Just got some Jenny Kush seeds from Rare Dankness. This stuff is a Michigan staple and I pick it up in both flower and oil form every time im up that way. Its some incredible herb and im looking foward to popping these later down the road. Just curious if anyone has grown this strain and what I can expect.
Topshelftrees is doing a reproduction run on them as soon as he gets enough seeds. Here’s the thread
Im glad someone else is trying to keep it around. I know RD was in the process of phasing it out. I know North Atlantic Seed Company still has some packs left if anyone is interesting in grabbing them before they’re gone.
I created a strain 20+ years ago and called it Jenny Kush…didn’t know someone else had a strain called Jenny Kush…
Yea, its a big time Michigan strain. Super tasty and dank
I have never heard of it, with about 500 new strains a day, too many to track ha.
Can you tell us a bit about the strain? What do you like about it? How is the flavor, aroma, high? Have any photos of plants or dried buds?
What separates the Jenny from other Kush’s, if anything?
Super dank hazy / berry taste and smell. Small, frosted, purple nugs. In small amounts its a very relaxing, uplifting buzz. Larger amounts it becomes very psychedelic and can cause a bit of anxiety. At least in my case. Defiantly a very enjoyable haze dom experience. I like the backstory behind the strain as well. Like i said, every time i go to michigan, its the first strain i seek out and it sells out fast. I think its the featured strain of Lume dispensaries up there. I’m very excited to grow this.
After seeing this thread I saw RD did another quick run of it and grabbed a pack at NASC.
So, unfortunate update. Finally got around to popping some of these. I just popped around 70 seeds of various strains. Everything germinated and broke soil, except these Jenny kush seeds. They germinated, but never sprouted. Anyone else have this issue?
I have. Look through my TheMan13’s Jenny Kush Project - Overgrow.com thread.
O trust me brother ive browsed through it multiple times. Whats been your favorite pheno of it you’ve grown so far? I really like the sativa dom stuff Ive had in Michigan a few times.
Did they crack and develop a tap root? Some duds will crack but never develop a tap root snd will die off. It’s possible the seeds were weaker. I have had it happen to me with older seeds when they would sprout and then die.
Yes, they all popped tap roots but none broke the surface. Never had this happen before with this many seeds of a strain. I wasnt too impressed with the beans. They were tiny, immature looking.
That explains it, i’d feel a bit screwed over.
I still have a few more beans to pop so maby ill get lucky, but yes, im disappointed. This is one i was really looking foward too.
Hopefully you at least have a mother if not can make more seeds.
No mother, bought the JK beans when they got re released a few years ago. Im assuming it was old stock that got repackaged. Id love to find the cut they grow in Mi. Its some incredible smoke
I have a feeling the cut is around but highly safeguarded.
Yes, the sativa dom pheno (JK2) that we ran a few times this year has been my favorite thus far. She is a bit of an outlier though pushing the pure sativa side of things. She has a very unique flavor and effect that reminds me of Jack Herer. We are hoping that our JK1 and JK3 will be more dominated by the Amnesia Haze (mother) in terps on the sativa side that has become popular in the commercial market around the country.
Our JK3 is actually a pheno I imported from @JohnnyPotseed that is pretty well known in recent years.
