Anyone have a good THC/MCT oil recipe for capsules?

Hey guys!

So I seek a recipe for THC/MCT oil for capsules. I’m going to be using a Magical Butter Machine to make the oil and then transfer it to the appropriate capsules.

Has anyone done this or have a good recipe you could share?

I have some good NL flower I’d like to use for these caps!

Magic butter has a Facebook group that would be more help. I’ve never made oil for capsules but making oil for cooking just follow the machine recipe. 3 ounces of decarbed flower to 2 cups oil should be nice and strong. Definitely join the group.

Figure what size caps you want…
00 holds about .9 of a ml…
figure out the d9 content…
probably about 200mg per gram,

Add however many ml of oil to equal the amount of pills you want to fill.

Example
1 oz -5600 mg THC

You want to fill 50 caps

You need roughly 50ml of oil

That would be 5600mg÷50ml

100mg roughly per cap and you will end up about 53 caps

I think you have to use a minimum amount in the MBM though? Just follow their recipes or their fb group as suggested too

Its a great machine for bulk, for small amounts, i stick to mason jars

I’m shooting for 15-20 mg per cap for a night nighttime buzz and sleep assist.

I’d like to make a batch of 100 caps.

Math was never my specialty lol

1 ounce at 18% in 2 cups oil will give you roughly 10mg at 1ml oil.

I make ‘OO’ sized cannabis capsules, for restless leg syndrome, and yesterday made mushroom caps, for micro dosing, and one batch with cannabis/mushroom both together, for curiosity sake.

I guess your using a capsule device, that holds 24 split capsules.
If I was going to do that, I’d use a hobby syringe, to fill the base of the cap, then pop the tops on, then pressing each one closed and call it a day.

I think you also need a capsule for wet additives.

    I’ve not used the soft ones yet, myself, just the vegan hard caps.
    I’m gearing up to make some caps with a combo of cannabis/hash portions, for a friend.
    I’m going to give your idea some thought however, as I just have/had a preconceived idea, that working a fluid, will be difficult, working with it, then storing them long term.

You can use the enteric coated ones as well @webeblzr it will make the medicine take longer to hit, but it gets it further into the system without the stomach degrading the contents

This is what i normally do. This recipe assumes youre using concentrates but if you only have flower, i can also give advice for that too :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey ClandestinLee, I do not know about those myself.

The vegan caps, I use capping up cannabis, adding a portion of Lecithin to it first, aids in absorption of the goodies into the body.
I’m just guessing, but by adding a portion of liquid Lecithin to your oil extract, help with absorption quicker.
There is no difference to how fast absorption is when we make cannabis butter, then cookies, or the caps, the absorption, starts in 20 minutes or so, after ingestion.

Enteric are specially coated to bypass the stomach acid.

I take a normal capsule to come on, and at the same time, take a half dose in an enteric coated capsule. This allows me to extend the duration of my medicinal state, while using a smaller dose/not dosing a full second dose.

i am not noticing a comedown, as the enteric coated capsule begins effects after the normal capsule is peaking.

I have noticed that people who lack the enzymes necessary are able to use a smaller dose than the outrageous 1000mg+ because more thc arrives intact through the stomach

I usually just use standard vegan soft capsules. Believe they are cellulose. They sweat sometimes during hot weather but i usually keep them in the freezer aside from when im going somewhere. They dont lose a significant amount or dissolve but they tend to get a little oily in the bag. Have brought them on a multiweek trip and didnt have any issues last summer.

I dont use lecithin, personally didnt notice too much of a difference in effects. Only comment i have is if i dont eat food with my capsules, sometimes they dont hit until i eat. Actually just had that happen at lunch :rofl:. Usually just comes on full strength as im eating.

I use a Nugsmasher and make rosin. Heat up in the oven rosin in a glass measuring cup with a glass lid at 240f till no more bubbling in the rosin. Let it cool a little bit to 120-180f u can check with a temp gun. Add 40% Mct oil after the decarb and leave it with 60%rosin which is just enough to liquify but super thick. The good thing about using a glass measuring cup to decarb is you can see how many ml you have of rosin and can add the appropriate amount of Mct oil. Stir that shit. and put in a tincture bottle. It’s strong as shit, those tinctures are almost all pure rosin I be gettin em off for like 200 bux those are like RSO but liquidy basically and after the tincture u can do anything you want with it. Those get me basically instantly high soon as I taste it it’s that strong and powerfully activated. Those last forever, you’ll be able to get litt a million times before that gets close to running low. Enjoy

@PurpleFlamethrower that sounds like a good idea, what do you consider rosin? And what is the easiest way to get it from my trim? Are you talking about the Keef?
