Anyone have any experience with the UNI-T UT383 Lux meter and PPFD app?

Trying to figure out the best app setting to get the best reading

Migro had a YouTube video where he compared a ton of light meters. He found that you can take the reading from the UniT and multiply it by .017 to get a relatively accurate PPFD reading.

If the meter reads
2000 (x10)
Multiply by .017
Result is ~340ppfd

I’ve been doing it this way with the meter and it gets me a good enough ballpark. If you measure the same way every time you can also keep notes and find a good range for veg and flower.

This is the important part. We use the UniT here, and haven’t had the time to calibrate the app to our fixtures and tent. So we make sure to take our readings from roughly the same spot in the tent when adjusting the light. For testing the canopy later in the grow, I’ll usually run the UniT for 3-5 minutes over the canopy, letting it collect data for the app to aggregate into a useful average. In the case of an uneven canopy, I check for potential hot spots.

At the end of the day, your methodology will make a difference.

Hope you enjoy the new tool! It is a solid piece of kit.

I think my issue is figuring out my source on the app. Trying to get specs from AC Infinity as we speak.
