So I’m attempting to build a small single plant Ebb & Flow system, with as small of a footprint as possible. I have a few ideas in mind but thought who else better to ask the OG. I’m looking for any and all advice from fill and drain times, hardware like timers, pumps, grow media ( clay pebbles or hydro cube). Anything to look out for and any insight that may make it a easier ride so to speak. I’ve done DWC previously but really seem drawn to try the ebb and flow. Thanks in advance!
If you are thinking small, you might want to have a look at @Mr.Sparkle s setup. A very neat and tidy small space grow and he’s documented everything he does.

I grew for close to 20 years doing ebb and flow…
Rubbermaid 18 gallon res for each 2x4 tray filled with hydroton, we glued sink strainers to our bulkhead fittings to keep the media out of the plumbing. Timers will need to be played with to find the sweet spot.
Keep in mind, typically flood and drain trays are up above the res to drain after the cycle, limiting head room.

great idea for a thread, waiting to see what it comes up with I as well am interested in this tech
There are a few of us using similar methods, a topic asking about it (and consolidating a few links) is: Ebb and Flow, Flood and Drain. Are people still using this method?
I’m on a not-uncomplicated version of flood & drain, there are a few of us floating around. Happy to answer questions, because my topic is a bit of a jumbled mess of random experimentation.
