White specs on these mother plants. Might be spider mites cause i have them in my flowering tent but i can’t see any webs
Prob thrips check underside of leaves for black specks which is poop
It’s a tough situation man and if my plants are ever flowering with thrips I trash them and do a deep cleaning. On occasion I’ve removed all of the infected foliage and then Bud washed at harvest but they are a b**** to deal with. They basically s*** on the leaves and flowers so really difficult to treat. Fortunately looks like your plants aren’t fully flowering so can try to treat ASAP. Keep in mind they thrive in warm moist conditions so if you can adjust the environment somehow it will help but sometimes they are in the medium and completely screwed
These are some cuts im saving in case they are good so they might all be shite anyway. My flower tent is infested with spider mites anyway so im gonna do a big deep clean and probably replace the conpost with a simple homemade DWC system in this tent.
While the thrip is seen present I would still keep vigilant on the mite front as they are likely also present being in a nearby tent. Mites can travel by air or more easily by yourself/pets. My experience with mites was typical, a loss. I did finish flower but fought for months after to keep the cuttings and new seedlings, eventually giving in to complete sanitizing and replacement of ducting to be safe.
Still wish I had a cutting from those ladies, those genetics were old then and as far as I’ve seen, irreplaceable.
I wish you luck
That is a thrip.
Spinosad and oil spray will kill thrips on leaves. Thrips spend part of their lives underground.
Nematodes applied to the soil will break up their life cycle.
Cheers man i will look into this
i see the horde (thrips). as well i think the white spots is powdery mildew some sulfur dust will fix it quick. the thrips good luck they are a bitch what ever you use don’t spot doing it for at least 5 weeks to get them all
Definitely thrips! If you have a separate cloning area, cut all your plants down and clone the tops, washing them off, so the thrips don’t continue on the new clones.
Do not bother saving that soil if you recycle.Just bag it up and throw it right in the garbage save yourself the trouble of overwintering some thrip eggs in that soil thrips are one of the hardest things to get rid of it completely sucks You will cure PM before you get rid of Some thrips that seem almost nuclear .Yes you can sterilize it and reamend it but it takes weeks in full sunlight in black construction bags noone has time for that shit.Use fresh soil if you can it will save you a whole lot of Heart ache good luck on wiping them out check out the Thrips one and Done thread on here for a good spray. It works i used it myself no more thrips
Yeah I’m gonna get rid of the soil and go completely DWC. I use DWC in my other tent and I have a small air pump that should be perfect so I’m gonna get something like this:
Cut some holes in the top, get a couple airstones and just keep my mothers in DWC. Then I shouldn’t have to worry about soil borne pests.
Greenhouse thrips can definitely survive in DWC as they complete the lifecycle without the soil.
Are thrips what’s causing those lighter discolorations on the leaves?
I should have specified I’m going to renove the infested plants and soil and clean every thing first
+1 for Spinosad. Mechanical fogger works best, use low volume at fine mist. If you use a sprayer use a very fine mist and try not to get any in the soil or medium.
These guys aren’t as devastating as spider mites in my opinion but they’re not far down the list. Leaf Hoppers as well… But my dumbass didn’t know they were a pest until I let them get established ![]()
Spray the soil with spinosad, too.
Clear plastic makes higher temperatures than black plastic.
