Anyone ever smoke/use a strain that people you know think is great or good, and you find off putting or bad tasting?
Witnessed a situation where someone was smoking a strain that didn’t have any complaints and was actually asked for, but they thought was garbage. Because now that person is gonna go and tell anyone they know that it’s dog crap mids or worse.
Can one person say something tastes fine and enjoy it and another think it’s from a swampy outhouse?
Yep sure can. Everyone’s different when it comes to the plant I have buddies that love certain strains I think are garbage and vice versa lol it’s all a matter of opinion and preference imo. With that said I also don’t run around bad mouthing those strains I just say that ones not for me and I didn’t care for it cuz of x y z

I smoke the Jack Herer since it’s been released, at least a round per season each season since i’m growing lol When I lit a blunt, there is always interested stoners, just by the name.
Most of stoners are appreciating the first three tokes, specially if it’s a lemoney pheno, then it’s turning quickly in a shit show the next 30 minutes. They all smoke 10 oz per week, they all smoke the best cuts of the planet, they all (fill the void), some have even big names ^^ … but are white like my ass and puke.
You can prevent that the high is very long and very mental, that it’s a real strong weed that saturate most of receptors, that it’s is very pleasant for a 90’s raver only … it always end the same : egos melted in THC and THCv ^^
So since decades, it’s always a weed one ask to taste an unique time (in my surrounding). Pairing it is an hell, i just gave up to hybridize the chemotype to make it more popular; still the best weed of the world for me ^^ Very frustrating for a fanboy lol, no one agree with me specially during the “egos fire test”.
No one throw shit on the Jack Herer (except on its flowering stage maybe), but “outside the matrix” i have only three potheads in mind that asked again a blunt lol
So yeah without even talking about the terps, there is some weeds that make run people away ^^
On the stone department it’s less darwinian i find, when it’s too strong they just OFF and sleep like babies.

They aren’t very popular anymore but grape ape and purple punch never worked good for me, I’m a big indica person but those 2 never made me feel great.
Purple punchless! I have had it in a hybrid that was lovely but by itself is really unimpressive.
GSC gives me the feeling of having low blood sugar. The high is okay but not one I care for. (GMO exception)
I totally agree about GSC and have been reluctant to try any crosses. Then I made a cross (because i could). It’s still curing, but the sample I tried has a way different head high (but still gives me heavy legs). So no GSC for me, but I’ll consider crosses, now.
Some people seem to like the Pura Vida but I find it disgusting. Maybe it’s linalool I don’t know but it’s gross.
Oh yes. Ive seen it IRL a bunch with skunk1 stuff. Especially the moldy cheese/hippie foot smelling ones. Most people would turn their nose at it. And some people thats all they wanted to smoke

Yes, happens all the time. Currently some of us german overgrowers are holding a cannabis cup and so far scorecards are pretty diverse: Some (including me) loved the Super Buff Cherry, others ranked it far down the list. Most really liked the Amnesia Haze X Chocolate Rain entries, I did not care for them. Some ranked my own entry (Lost Skunk) at or near the top, for others it was second or third to last. Some found the Dantes Inferno to be very strong, others noted “weak potency”.

For sure… this is no different than when people have different wants for flavors in food… or colognes and perfumes…
Or how if 20 guys work out and sweat in a shirt… how different females will think certain shirts smell “good” where others are repulsed…
This all has to do with brain and body chemistry and it correlates with marijuana as well

I hate a strain called chinaberries… my wife and everyone else can smoke it. If i do… its a straight whole brain headache instantly the very 1st hit… take another and it amplifies. I Hate that damn strain!
They sure don’t make it like they used to. lol
