Anyone out there dealt with PayPal shutting down their account?

Hey OGers, like the title says, has anyone had to deal with PayPal shutting down their account due to people sending money as goods and services instead of using friends and family? Were you able to have it fixed and reopened? How did you do it? Any input would be appreciated.

#1 rule of paypal is don’t use paypal unless absolutely necessary. They can lock your account for any reason.

If you go over 600 in a year, in order to get it out, you have to provide them your social security number so they can report it to the government.

Unfortunately its already done. Biggest issue is people not spending as friends and family. Not only are there fees for that, it also raises red flags.

I had mine shut down years ago and have had several friends loose their accounts with significant amounts of money in them, they make you jump through hoops and can take months for them to release the funds. Paypal is not cannabis friendly, venmo and cashapp are much better options.

Well, a simple phone call fixed it exactly as you said @JohnnyPotseed , problem solved, lol.

There is some confusing parts of PayPal if you don’t use it very often. I think we should put a tagline in parts of the thread that would require PayPal. Just to keep everybody informed in the future, when PayPal is necessary. This is the way to proceed And how to answer the questions. This way, no one would have to deal with this in the future. @Pawsfodocaws Hope everything is resolved, buddy !!!

Venmo is owned by paypal. I like Apple Pay. It has been very seamless. I can even load in transit cards and my ID if I want and I’ve easily sent people 500$.

I fully explain that process whenever anyone is sending me money for beans, etc. The main thing is do NOT use any words associated with Ganja! lol PP WILL shut it down! I lost one account like that and had to open another (different email and name)

I totally agree. I just think sometimes people forget that They are not purchasing something. Anything on PayPal is a donation to a family or friend that’s it and all you should write “Donation” . PayPal keeps a record of your transactions. You can always go back if you need to reference a particular account transaction later on. Your history will be in PP for you to reference privately on PP If for any reason you needed to prove payment it will be there with transaction number. Everybody’s gotta get on the program here. These things could really hurt. Cheers Everyone!!!

Also @Pawsfodocaws as the money builds up in PP, you should drain it occasionally. That way IF there’s any BS, you aren’t hurt as badly. That’s what I always do. lol
In my sales or like in that fundraiser
