Midnight Cowboy - Day 58 flower
also, I was one of the ones chosen by seedsman a while back to test wedding cake autos … they should be here next week from an update I got. I told them I will grow out 2.
Congratulations on being chosen!! Wedding Cake is a great smoke.
Topped Loreline 1. i didnt just cut the main stem like i usually do. i opened up the newest growth a bit and just bent it a little and it snapped right off ill probably top this way from now on
They’re finishing nicely, that leaf colouration is natural fade imo like @George said, its called senesance, like trees in autumn, its when they’re at their most beautiful imo.
hey everyone, the midnight cowboy is drooping but doesnt need water… im not sure what to do, is the plant just ready? im going to try to get close up shots soon
do you have a jewlers loup? trichs are getting close… but hard to really tell with my old eyes and your close ups… may have another growth spurt in her yet???
let the soil dry a bit longer, normal at end to slow uptake…
i do but its hard for me to get a good pic with it /: theres pink trichomes as well im not sure if those = milky/amber
The pistils are dark, which is in my understanding (from reading stuff) a more reliable “done” indicator than trichs, because sometimes trichs don’t color, depending on strain.
I found a handheld microscope is easier to use and work with. There’s some cheap ones on amazon. But from what my inexperienced eyes can see I’d think she’s done or really close to being done.
??? I guess you could go by that… pistils always go dark till next growth spurt, depends on effect your after, trichs are more dependable in that regard…
Amber means degradation - cut a bud with mosly clear, cut a bud milky, and then mostly amber, same plant 3 different highs…
Right I’ve definitely seen that all over the place. I was reading a thread the other day talking about how some strains just don’t go amber. And I’ve seen in several places that orange/dark pistils mean the plant is done trying to get seeded, and thus has reached maturity (or something to that effect).
@Ashley You need 63 days on this plant to be “done” give or take.
Just 1 day ago you posted saying Day 58 of flower for midnight cowboy.
You have done an excellent job growing this, its looking great
Although everything looks very close to done, id push it another 5 to 7 days, then cut it down to process.
Dark & curled pistols, Tricombs 60/80% cloudy (pending preferences) fall color leaves little to none white pistols & on average 8 to 10 weeks of flower. If you pull on a set of leaves, do they fall off? As a general guide that ive followed.
thanks so much for the replies I will follow your advice and wait til day 63 and check again … so exciting!
Is this one of your 1st grow.?
this is my second time growing
Killing it for your second grow, keep it up!
Your very attentively managing your garden & it shows. Good job .
Agreed, some of the best looking cola canopies ive seen in a while.
I see lots of growers that have been growing for decades and their plants look sooooo sad. Like they never advanced their methods or anything. It’s good to see a newcomer have such well trained and managed plants
