Autoflower pollination

When is the best time to pollinate autos? I have one that is showing white pistols already but is only about 6 inches tall with about 3 nodes. She got stunted from a transplant. Should I dust her or wait a few weeks?

The sooner the better. Seeds take about 6 weeks to fully form.

So i am guessing with autos its as soon as you see white pistols? Is it one and done or hit her again once she stretches some?

I know when I pollinate I will hit a plant up a few times just to make sure I get plenty of seeds. But I always use my pollen when bud formation starts.

Some autos concentrate on seeds once they’re fertilized and make fewer buds and pistils. You’re going to probably get lots of seeds even from a stunt, but if quantity is really important wait until the mom is in full stretch.

That said, I almost always dust at the first opportunity, because as others have said, you’re going to need ~8 weeks to be sure the seeds are fully mature.

I grew a bunch of seed moms last summer in tiny pots and each plant had between 1 and 2 doobies worth of testable herb and 150-200 seeds per stunted plant. The plants were tiny - 6-10 inches with a single cola.

How tiny were your pots?

They were Styrofoam cups about like a large soda from Circle K - 16 oz I think. All of my breeding until the current generation was done with 16-20 specimens in pots no larger than #1s.
