Average Canadian Goose

Hello to all, time for me to start this new diary. Canadian indoor grower here, been growing for maybe 5-6 years. Grew my first plants maybe a decade ago, some Northern Lights autos that i surprisingly got to the finish line but had no idea how to dry and ended up drying them out in a day and ruining it all. After that first harvest i had to move and couldnt grow for a few years at the new place but i spent time on the forums and picked up the seed collecting habit. By the time i could grow again i had a better general idea what to do, learned a whole bunch since and still learning every day.

This diary is just a place for me to keep track of my grow and post random pictures as i’ve accumulated a bunch over the years. Obviously anyone is free to participate as well, all are welcome!

I have a few tents i use depending on the season but at the moment my setup is pretty small due to some equipment issues i had by the end of autumn. A bunch of my lights started to die and my dehumidifier did as well. I have only been running a 3x3 and a 2x4 tent these past months in order to keep humidity in check and due to having only one good light remaining. That being said, i just harvested the 3x3 tent a few days ago. I’ve run plants from many breeders that i’ll share in this diary but this last run featured only Sacred Cut genetics. He’s a canadian breeder best known for the Frosted Fruit Cake which is ( Wedding Cake x Fruity Pebbles OG ) . I’ve been running some of his genetics for a few years now in most of my runs and have had great results. I have only ever run plants from seed so far.

This run was;
Slymer BX
Sour Dubb x Fruity Pebbles OG
GMO x Fruity Pebbles OG
Cereal Milk x Fruity Pebbles OG

Here are some pictures

GMOxFPOG pheno 1

GMOxFPOG pheno 2

First pheno was strechier but has a better yield. Smell is rubber and onion rings
Second pheno is louder, gassy and sulfur with a nice purple fade and stickier buds.

Slymer BX pheno 1. This is the Yuzu mints dominant pheno, smells of sweet incensey glue. All plants were taken at 70 days, this one could’ve gone 63.

Slymer BX pheno 2. All limes and a note of incense. Strong smell and slick resin, touching the leaves has the fingers slimy more than sticky.

Breakfast OG ( Cereal Milk x FPOG ) pheno 1
Both phenos are quite similar, chunky buds that reek of some funk i have a hard time describing. There’s a bit of the fpog smell in there but with added funk and a chemical side to it. All the FPOG crosses are quite pungent but this is one of the loudest ones so far. This pheno would have benefited from an extra week or two but everything had to be harvested at once.

Second pheno was done by 10 weeks. Similar kind of smell than the first pheno.

Double Pebbles ( Sour Dubb x FPOG ) I’ve ran a couple plants from this pack in the past and to this day the gassiest and loudest plant i’ve grown came from this cross. First time i had a plant smell through the mason jar after drying. The two plants i ended up with this time aren’t as loud but they’re in the same realm that’s for sure. First pheno has the prettier flowers, a little less leafy and conical shaped buds. Would’ve benefited from 11 weeks as well but still ready to go at 10. The smell through flower was more tropical and creamy but at the finish line it’s gas on a fruity pebbles cereal frame. Real sticky and loud.

Second pheno is leafier and uglier. But the smell at harvest was all fruity pebbles cereal on top of gas. Can’t keep my hands off this one

Slymer BX if looks were the only criteria this plant would be the winner from this run. Faded to purple by week 6 and went almost black

Chementine (Chem 91 x Sour Tangie)
Smoking on this today. This is another sacred cut cross from an older line. I’ve ran a few plants and all had this strong chemmy orange smell, real nice. Not light citrus like some other plants, the chem in it really gives it some depth and complexity. Also gives the bud some oomph. Different phenos have given different effects but this one is my favorite. If i’m not careful this one changes my plans for the day lol. Nice smoke in moderation but too much will leave you glued to the couch with an active mind. Not sleepy like a death bubba but just real heavy body, motivation killer but brain is still zoomin. If i kept cuts this is one i would have kept.

Some very nice plants… and bonus, some crosses I’m not familiar with as well.

I’ll park over by the fire and start loading the party bong… :+1:

Looks really good there bro:+1: keep up the good work. I like how you cover the ends of you bamboo stakes. I’ve told myself numerous times that I should do the ping pong ball thing. I guess Im waiting till I poke my eye out :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thank you for the kind words! I actually only started covering the bamboo stakes this last run even though i’d been thinking about it for years lol. I remember reading too many stories on the forums of people getting seriously hurt with those. I feel i’ve come close a few times with them already so figured i’d be proactive for once. Makes for easy plant labeling as well. Might be a bit of an eye sore but i’ll take that over a life-altering injury

Looking good! I’m going to tag along.

And A+ on proactive safety! I’m the person who hurts themselves on things even while actively avoiding them, so I tend to be a “prevent a problem before it can become one” person.

Better an eye-sore than a sore eye! (I couldn’t help myself, I’m so sorry.)

So with the 3x3 harvested a few days ago these are the plants for the next run. I am a big fan of heavy indicas, in particular bubba kush and similar plants. There’s a cutting in Canada that goes by Death Bubba that has been popular for a few decades and is a favorite for late night sesh. I have a couple crosses of it going in as well as a couple Tuna Kush crosses. I remember getting Tuna a few times in the past and have been looking for it ever since.

Ancient Tuna (Ancient OG x Tuna Kush) by Vandelay seeds
Death Bubba Puffs (Death Bubba x Koko Puffs F2) by Vandelay
Tuna Breath (PBB x Tuna Kush) by 7east genetics
Death Breath (Death Bubba x (Death Bubba x Sour Dragon’s Breath)) by 7east genetics
Cherry Twist (Gelatti x CPKB) by Sacred Cut
Thousand Oaks F2 (Oakland Purple Kush x Joseph OG) by Omuerta Genetics

The funny thing is that since starting these seeds I have come across a cut of Black Tuna from a source i deem to be very reputable and legitimate and will be receiving a cut of it as well as the Death Bubba clone in the next weeks. I am still more than curious to see what these beans hold but i have a tendency to always be thinking of the next grow while barely paying attention to what is already growing

I’ve heard different things about the Death Bubba clone. Personally i came across the strain for the first time maybe 15-16 years ago when i first discovered the online cannabis dispensaries. At that point weed to me had always been sold under a handful of names; Exo/Hydro/M39/Kush were pretty much the names i knew plus maybe Blueberry, Jack and White Widow i had heard or had a couple times. But then one day i realised there was a whole wide world of weed out there and i’ve been hooked ever since. I quickly noticed indicas helped me sleep and i prefered their sedative nature in the evening. I started buying different strains and eventually got some Death Bubba and it’s been the strain i measure other indicas to ever since.

The popular story nowadays seems to be that it’s a Bubba Kush x Death Star cross but i don’t know about that. Back when i first came around it, i remember the description that accompanied it on the websites i would buy it off of to be something along the lines of " a very strong cutting of bubba kush, that older heads nickname death due to its’ tendency to put people to sleep ". There was also a Muerte cut going around, which i suspected to be the same thing, and which is spanish for Death. Altogether it’s entirely possible it’s neither of those two stories and something entirely different. So much folklore when it comes to strains with very little proof in most cases
