Bad Pictures but a great topic - Virga's journey (ENG/PT-BR)

Hello, my fellow web surfers! You’ve just stumbled upon the thread with the worst photos so far! And trust me, it can always get worse.

My name’s Rafael, and Virga is my last name. I’m 30 years old, a biologist, and a nature enthusiast.

I consider myself a beginner grower. I have a 0.80x0.80 space equipped with a 240w quantum board for flower stage, and I just threw out my clothes to set up another vegetative area inside my closet using a 65w quantum board. After all, a man only needs 2 pairs of underwear, 2 shorts, and 2 shirts—as one is being washed, you wear the other. :joy:

About two years ago, I discovered I have mild epilepsy, which is now under control. However, this has fueled my passion for cultivation and studying plants even further.
Since I’m new to the forum and only recently got a sense of what truly good genetics are, here’s what I’m currently growing for veg and flower:

Pineaple chunck x og kush ( barneys x dna)
2 phenos of ecsd x moby dick x strawberry diesel cookies
Purple cherry - positronics
‘‘Diamond kush’’ wich a friend gave me a seed that he found in a bud

This has been the worst cultivation I’ve done so far. I went on a trip earlier this year, and while I was away, the plants, during the vegetative stage, suffered from heat damage. The apical and lateral buds of almost all of them burned out. They got stressed, and I had to re-vegetate/prune them to get them looking decent again. On top of that, they ended up with spider mites. :grimacing::grimacing:

On the bright side, I managed to take clones from them, and the clones are vegetating really well. They’re practically begging for a transplant, and the new pots are arriving Wednesday!
I didn’t find anything particularly special about the genetics, so after these clones, I won’t be keeping them (maybe the Sour or Pineapple crosses, but I’ll decide after smoking them).

I’ve already won some seeds in raffles, and I’m waiting for them to arrive to select for my next cycle—with nothing but high-quality genetics this time!

From now on, I’ll always post in both English and Portuguese here for my fellow Brazilian friends!

Just another topic, so here’s just another day’s song. :musical_note:

Olá meus amigos navegantes da web, você acaba de encontrar o tópico com as piores fotos até agora! sempre da para piorar

Me chamo Rafael, e Virga é meu sobrenome, 30 anos , biólogo e amante da natureza

Pineaple chunck x og kush ( barneys x dna)
2 phenos de ecsd x moby dick x strawberry diesel cookies
Purple cherry - positronics

Do you think I only beg for seeds on draft? I grow a little too!
Thank you, Resimax, for stopping by. There’s always room for improvement, and I have a lot to work on! XD
I’m glad I found the OG community

Coming along on this grow journey.
Great setup man…wish you great success :slightly_smiling_face:

100% with @resimax on this. If you’ve got a biology background, you’re already a step ahead of most growers out there. Even just understanding NPK and how it works gives you a huge edge over a total beginner.

Oh, and props on those plants, looking great!

Hey virga my man, happy to find your topic here. I’ve had a rough start too but this community blessed me so much with nice strains that my goal became to give back whenever I have a chance.
And I am with my friends above: biologist is def ahead of many of us, you know how things work in a level we don’t.
Pulling my hammock on this one. Good luck my friend.

And here’s a song with the message: keep your blind faith in life but never forget to sharpen your knife

Stand strong and fight those mites -_-, I hate them.

once I controlled them a little bit by raising humidity(cuz I cant lower temperature, don have ac unit), went from 45% to 55-60% and this helped brake them, at least stopped the web thing.

Of course mold can show up, but this didnt happen, even that my plants(buds/nugs)were bigger than yours

i didnt know that raising humidity could help, i have and

Hey there @Virga - I am excited to tag along here!

Up until last year, I lived in a heavily Brazilian neighborhood here in the northern US. We had a brilliant bbq place right next door, it was a good life. Also a Brazilian grocery store, where I purchased a lot of caramel and cheese bread

I am just packing up some beans to send your way

From a fan to a friend, what an honor to have you here, BasemantGardens…
I imagine it must have been one of your best neighborhoods, with lots of barbecues and delicious treats!
I hope to achieve many accomplishments here to showcase.

I can’t believe it… It will be an honor to have some of your genetics here. I’ll send my details to your private inbox.
Thank you so much!"

edit: The old songs by Ed Motta are really good, it’s just a shame that nowadays he has some very controversial opinions about certain styles of Brazilian music… The truth is, he always dreamed of being an American citizen

I repotted my clones 2 days ago into 7L pots, and they seem to like it. There’s a lot of new growth, I’m liking the internode spacing, and I was able to level up the canopy so that everyone gets the same PPFD.
The color isn’t that bright, but I’m expecting some dark green color in a few days

set of the day !!!

Dude, how do you take good pictures inside a grow space? Do you guys use some kind of filter? The images just get blown out with white

I think at least some people turn off the grow light and use other light sources.

The plants are looking good! Glad they’re enjoying the new pots.
