Yeah, dang net. We are getting away from hand watering as well. Next grow, I think I’m gonna stake and not net. We will have a better watering system that we can adjust a bit here and there for the ones that don’t need as much. I do like to compare weights for sure.
Helps with fungus gnat control, not a bunch of water sitting round.
I just love to hear everyone’s problems.
Comparing water weight also helps with picking time, the slower/less water they take in means its about over.
I wish I had a moisture meter for every pot, looking at it that way. It will be easier once I get some mothers going and start learning the strains a bit.
The top dress with DE has worked wonders on the gnats. I havent seen any for a couple of days.
After a bit youll understand there is no great science to growing this plant.
People try to make everyone think it is and some people go just way to far thinking they’re better growers than everyone else
by going to great lengths. Hogwash
Man you don’t need no moisture meter, ya ought to be able to judge by weight.
We already have a couple moisture meters. I would like to dial in the moisture the best I can, but there is another reason I really like having them. I am stuck 25 minutes away from the flowering tent. This way I can check them, without actually being there, since ecowitt has an online dashboard. This gives me piece of mind, since I am not able to just go check them at any time.
I for sure know I am not the best grower on here by far. I do like the piece of mind this offers me. If I drove over tomorrow morning to check them, and they are still good, I may have to drive back over and check them again tomorrow evening. If they were still good, I may have to go get them the next day. Too much fuel being unemployed.
I’m not big on using products for sure. I’d rather make my own. Having said that, there is some pretty good science backing mykos. I wanted to be able to try them put, and run some side by side comparisons. This was a great way to dip my toes in the water for about 8.50 shipping included.
Here are some hps free pics. I’m giving them some ffj today. My nose has been all messed up due to allergies, and I haven’t been smelling much. Today I smelled some stank when I walked in though. That’s a great sign.
The chems side by side
Some nice looking plants brother. Can almost smell them from here…lol
Oh nice! I picked up that exact same thing a couple months ago.
I’ve noticed a big difference with using azos. Specifically when transplanting but also in general.
I’ve been messing with their regular mykos and the wp from them and not noticed much of a difference but I’ve not done a side by side. I do think it causes the soil to kinda brick up though, and then it’s harder for the water to soak in. but I’m only on my 2nd real soil grow coming from hydro so I’m not 100% positive that’s the cause. I’ve tended to just not use it at all lately.
The compost tea seems legit to me and does work. Not sure its worth actually buying it or not compared to making your own, but it does seem to work for sure.
No idea on the efficacy or efficiency of the root packets. I tried it on a couple plants but again, no side by side with clones so I can’t say either way.
I have not tried the foliar spray stuff at all.
Thank you so much for the feedback!! I mainly got it for the mykos, so the rest of it was a bonus.
I like the thought of adding the fungi to the party!
Im going to do my own teas as well. Why spend money on it, when I have the ingredients?
I’m also gonna make my own cal mag foliar. It’s some work, but I get satisfaction from diy.
They have great products. I use their Mykos and Azos all the time. I got the same sample pack to try their other stuff. Great deal.
OK, Ive been pretty weak on updates on the youngins. I will get to the blue kush later. Here are the paralyzers.
The average size is 3.5-4 inches.
5 is the shortest, but she is a beautiful, stocky thing. I like her. She’s only 2.5 inches.
The shocker is number 4. At 6.25 inches, he is way bigger than the rest. Yup pretty sure that’s a ball.
Here is the experiment. I took it from the tiny pot, to one of the larger small pots, with supersoil, at 10 days old. It didn’t have a great root ball when I did it, so it came apart a bit. I gently filled in the best I could. Since it recovered, it’s been thriving.
Two and seven suffered loss of limb in an unfortunate trimmer incident. I saw some spots, and cut the leaves off. I let my humidity get too high at night, so lesson learned.
Group shot. I believe the starter soil ran out of juice. It was interesting to me that while the leaves yellowed, they turned purple on the edges and in the middle.
Oddly enough, I can just stare at these fat leaves forever. They are entrancing.
You seen some signs of evil? squints at the photos
Because of the DE? Fungus gnats.
@JoeCrowe
I was wondering if they were like visual spots or some kind of parasite on the leaf?
No they looked more like fungus. The humidity got close to the 70s, so I fixed my fan settings.
Tell me what you think @JoeCrowe . I didn’t see you on that other thread. I definitely doubt parasite though.
ohhh! I would say that’s just a few dead leaf patches, and not something alive! Usually a fungus you can wipe away with your thumb.
Thanks man. That makes me feel better.
