IIRC Grapefruit is the Mom of Sweet Pink Grapefruit ( Breeder Steve SOL ) ?
Does the cut ( not SPG ) also have the auto - flowering traits when rootbound ?
Is the cut also a mold magnet ?
Is it a floppy stemmed thing ?
Asking 'cause have a pk of C-Rays Grapefruit 3/4 Haze & wondering how it might fare in the Florida heat / humidity . Have my doubts but being 3/4 Haze might just be worth the effort .

Had a strain called sweetness never grew grapefruit but ive had it and reminded me of what my family had . And it had thin stems and grew like a low bush she had a 3 leaf fan leaf but when you put her to flower she would beef up was in the family for 30 years and the only strains that reminded me of her was the grapefruit and romulan. Sweetness was a name my father gave it back in the day bought the plant from Vancouver Island off a old fella saw it out door and was amazed payed 500 dollars for it 30 years ago

Yeah spg will bloom if root bound some of her hybrids will too I wish someone would sell s1s of her not had a bit of spg in a bit myself so I wouldn’t mind some

My biggest concern is that she’s a mold / bud rot magnet . Have heard this whole line & relations have issues with RH / dew / fog etc .
I have a Grapefruit cut called “Grapefruit Juice”. Given to me by a commercial grower it’s from a BC Grapefruit from way back.
It’s given me PM issues when I didn’t realize my fan’s settings were wrong for a week so I’ll never run this outdoors in S.Ont.
When turning off the heaters for the final weeks it gets VERY PURPLE and stinks great like sweet-rotting fruit. Breaks my heart I can’t run it as a tree outdoors.

Pretty much confirms it aint gonna fly in my enviroment . In dire need of the right lottery ticket so I can upgrade my HVAC . As is staying below 50% RH is a real PITA to impossible sometimes . Shame as C-ray & Scabby do good work & it’s 3/4 of Green Supreme’s O’ Haze .

I just got another dehumidifier for another room I have lots of plants in. Small unit from Home depot and I keep a 5 gal bucket in the room to collect the water pulled from the air.
I was dealing with 60-70rh and now i’m averaging 40-50 and a $300 (cAD) solution was in my reach vs any HVAC adjustments.
The water is used for non consumables and I add a little fert and H0Cl to it before application.

If anyone was interested in running a grapefruit hunt I can supply some seeds. I have a variety of grapefruit seeds from BC growers that I dont have the time to hunt through. Please reach out if anyone wants to do some hunting.
These all came from a reputable cropper out west and were from an open pollination.
Not sure if its SOL Grapefruit but he said they were stinky and should yield heavy.
