Mine took a beating this year; I think I’m gonna have to lime & cover crop for a year & let things recharge. Its been a while since I gave it a rest. The squash bug population needs to starve for a season at least too. I ended up w/ enough to eat though.

Tried growing an acre of pumkins last year to sell by the road, Things looked great, until they didn’t… Damn Squash Bugs ate the plot… Think I was able to get 10 max from that time waste…
I learned Marigolds repell the bugs and planted a ton in the veg garden… All squash, cukes, pumkins ect… this year no problems go figure…

If you dont mind me asking what are marigolds? Me and my daughter are gonna do a small indoor garder for her and some lady offered us some. Said shes gonna send breakfast radishes and a few other things as well she just asked i cover shipping

short answer, marigolds are flowers. I put one right next to each plant base and solid rows, I was on a mission to never see those squash bugs ever again…

You can spray pyrethrin on the bases when you plant and again when they are flowering.Problem solved. Its an organic poison made from Chrysanthemums.

Is the vacuum seal for long term storage? Do you freeze or refrigerate once they are sealed?

My Heime Cheeba 14 footer is barely flowering, it is a clone from the much smaller mother.
This is the mother and another clone. Much further along.
I managed to upright the Purple Paralyzed Freak somewhat. When I did, she grabbed a hold of the ladder in some mad death grip.
