Well I think the title says it all. I’m making my first real attempt at growing indoors. Well half assed attempt anyhow. Here’s the deal, moneys tight and I don’t have a budget. This is a work with what I got deal and I don’t have a whole lot but I have enough to make it work.
So here’s what I’m working with. A single 100W vivaspectra light, some LED shop lights, seeds, dirt, pot, nutes, basic to intermediate knowledge and a can-do attitude.
No tent or enclosure to keep the plant in and a single light means limited space. She will be out in the open so a 24 hour on light cycle is the choice. For these reasons I’m obviously going with a single feminized auto flower plant. I don’t think the 100w will be enough for more than a single plant if. I’m doubtful it’s enough for a single plant on its own but then again I don’t really know much about indoor growing. This light was originally purchased as a veg lamp to get a head start on my outdoor grows.
So I have a small selection of feminized auto seeds thanks to the wonderful people on this site. Pretty sure most if not all these came from @RainToday and @Kasper0909
So my choices are
Critical red hourglass(grew this last summer, good stuff)
Chocolope
Strawberry pie X gorilla cookies
Vida Blanca border jumper
Taking votes on what to plant as I get the grow area ready for production.

I have no idea what it is but vida blanca border jumper certainly sounds interesting

Me neither. I couldnt really find much on but a post or two here on OG. It’s the top choice for me at the moment.

Chocolope is my second choice only because I only have a single seed. Was a freebee

Well chocolope is the top runner as of now. I’ve always heard good things about it. I plan to get things going before Christmas but may be after. Kids out of school for the week so spare time will hard to come by. If I knew how to set up a poll for what I should grow I would. Critical red was a favorite last year. I really enjoyed the smoke and the plants grew great. I grew the strawberry pie cross but it got so infested with aphids it was a total loss. But the plant itself looked amazing and was frosty as hell. Vida Blanco border jumper just sounds really interesting.

Would go chocolope too. Definitely pulling up a chair. Best of luck

Well the indoor garden may not go as planned. We’re having family stay with us for a while and wife wasn’t having it so no plants for a while yet. I should still be able to get the autos started early enough to finish outside in the greenhouse in the spring. I do have two phot period plants that have been on life support in little cups. I’ll snag a picture later. I was given these months ago from my friend and haven’t done a thing but water them until recently. A week or so ago I trimmed all the dead leaves and topped it. It’s been topped before I got it as well. I’m not really sure how long these have been in the pots, I know it was a while even before I got them. Should be interesting to see how they do when I transplant them finally.

Since I started this thread for an indoor garden that’s not gonna happen, I think I found a use for it. I still start all my outdoor plants indoors that includes weed and veggies so I figured I’ll just put all my indoor goings on in here. I’ll be starting a couple rounds of autos I doors as well as photos.
I’ve been itching to get started but it’s a bit too early yet. I need to go through and inventory what supplies I have and finish planning. Im still undecided what photo periods I’m going run this season. I keep change my mind every day. I have some time do make that decision yet though.
I’ve been trying to keep my mind occupied since work is slow and I can’t garden. We have family here so it we’ve all just been hanging out. The comforting sounds of a full home made me relaxed enough that I decided to sit and draw. Something I used to do all the time but never seem to find the time. I always feel guilty when I try to enjoy something recently. Like I should be accomplishing things instead of enjoying myself. So this wasa nice change of pace today.
Here’s the drawing I did. Took about an hour with mechanical pencil. I watched the Barbie movie with my daughter and two nieces and drew this… I’m not sure what that says about me. I had only intended to try drawing my hand. I’ve never been good at hands and saw a tiktok weeks ago that made it look easy and haven’t stopped thinking about it so I tried it and it turned into this. Enjoy.

So on the docket for the indoor going on we have a couple photo plants I’ve been barely keeping alive for this season. And a few gallon ziplocks of fresh frozen from last season that needs to be processed for bubble hash. I plan to press the hash into rosin…I really wanted to get an actual press this year but doesn’t seem feasible right now. With starting the business money is tighter than ever. Last years grow was already on a budget. This year I’ll be scraping the bottom of the barrel to get things right. The garden isn’t getting much funding this year, lots of plans going on the back burner. Doesn’t mean I’m not gonna have a blast. I have every intention of knocking it out of the park this go around, I will NOT be discouraged! I just need to be resourceful. I need to invest in smaller fabric pots and recycle all the soil in my large 20 gal fabric pots. Going for smaller plants this time so smaller pots will be fine should l have me with enough medium to amend and spread amongst the entire garden. Raised beds and pots alike.
Here’s a shot of the two photos I got from my pal Jerry. If your not familiar, Jerry is the guy who gave me the clones that got me started growing two years ago. These are clones he gave me a few months ago. They’ve been in these little cups since September. They’re for sure root bound in their containers. they require water just about every day or they wilt. I’ve been so preoccupied that I routinely forget to water them. I’m surprised they’re doing this well with the amount of neglect they received. I know Jerry spends a lot of time selecting good mother plants so no doubt good genetics played a strong role in their survival up to this point. It sure wasn’t due to my green thumb. I should have taken a picture before I pruned all the dead leaves and topped them.
Here’s a shot of all the fresh frozen I need to process. This needs to be done soon. My stash is almost dry. I’m down just a little bit of blue Franky and a jar of big bubble. The big bubble was such a let down last year. It had so much potential but conditions were not ideal for it. I lost about half the tow plants I had. And they had some HUGE colas. Super dense thick buds were it’s greates asset and downfall. The humidity took its toll and caused a lot of mold. Most of the largest buds were rotten in the middle. Not to mention they buds all seeded too. I’m convinced there’s ditch weed growing near by pollinating my grow each year. When I can grow indoors I really want to give these another shot.
The bud is servicable though. It dryed and cured perfectly. Had a really cheese/skunk funk to it. I have to break it up and pick out seeds before I run in through the grinder or I’m.smoking harsh seed husks. Takes a few extra puffs to get me where I need to be but the high is exactly what I look for. Keeps my heads in the clouds but my feet firmly planted. I feel nice and relaxed but not foggy. My mind is calm and focused. I really wish these had a better chance, I truly think it would have been the star of the show.

I forgot to mention what those plants were! The one on the left is a strawberry cough and the right is a gorilla glue x sherbert

Come along with me! As I begin to process last seasons grow into some bubble hash! It’s cold as a well diggers dick outside today so I scheduled myself a day off. Figure I should take advantage of the chill and finally process all my fresh frozen and trim.
This is only my second go at making hash. I over agitated last time and mixed way too long, I basically blended it. It still.came.outngreat and made some awesome rosin. This time around I have a paint mixer and a good drill that can run at a low speed and a little bit more knowledge and patience.
So here goes nothing. I’ll make a new post for every step of the process as I go. Right now we’re just getting the water cold as I can. Letting it sit out for dechlorination and to chill. While that’s happening I’m going to clean up my work area and gather all the needed things.

So heres the material I’m working with. I have 3 gallon ziplocks of big bubble. 2 of blue Franky, 3 bags of dry trim, in the box is fresh frozen and dried Afghani auto. There’s some critical red and honey cream spread around in there also. I’m gonna do a few runs and see what we get. First off will be the big bubble. I’m not expecting a huge return on it. It wasn’t super frosty and I recall the trichromes being on the short side. But it’s all for the sake of science! Time to get the ice and buds into the bucket.

2 zips of big bubble in the bucket. A 2 minute soak then agitate for 5 and rinse and repeat. Then on to the blue Franky with a clean run of water and ice. Then the trim and Afghani.

First run finished. Im probably going to just toss the rest of it in with the first wash or I’ll run out of time to finish all of this. I’m not terribly worried about it.
Super pleased with the result. Actually more than I thought I would get. Let’s see what happens with a second run with fresh stuff added.

Here’s the results of run 2 with more fresh frozen tossed in. Forgot how long of a process this is. I may need to get bigger bags for next year.

I’m gonna do another wash and see how much more I get. Still seems to be getting a decent amount. I can’t afford to leave any behind! Looks like the blue Franky and the rest will have to wait till tomorrow.

Here’s the final results. The very last wash got a little contaminated with plant material due to my negligence. It’s been 8 hours of washing bud and still only through half of it.
I’m super happy with the results! The color is great! Soooo much better than my last time doing this. It was all green my first try. Any experts that happen by please critique my work. I really want to burn some now but I don’t think it would burn yet. It smells amazing. It’s like I never cut the plant down. Every terp is still there. Into the fridge for drying it goes

More bud washing today. Gor a later start than I wanted to but I think I have tje process figured out well.enough that I should be more efficient than yesterday. The blue Franky is soaking in the ice water right now. I left the big bubble outside in the bucket with the ice, no water. It froze so I figured I’ll add some fresh waterz thaw it out and break it up and give it another wash. The last wash still has quite a bit of yield so maybe there’s more in there!?
I figured I can do two washes at a time and strain them through the 220 into two different clean buckets…that way while I’m waiting for things to settle I’m mixing the next batch instead of eating around. Then while Im washing bags for the next run I can be letting the next wash soak and so on. I love learning new processes and making them efficient. Still a lot to learn about bubble hash but it’s fun as hell. I love scooping up all that good good sticky stuff. The smells are so good. When I opened the bag of blue Franky I just put my nose in the bag and inhaled for a good minute straight.
Its cold and breezy today so I brought th tray of yesterday’s yeild to dry and freeze. I’ll attempt to sift or plane it while it’s frozen. I tried to squeeze as much water out as I could but it’s sooo sticky. especially the 73 micron. It was getting stuck to the 25 micron drying screen when I tried to get the moisture out. I think I have a better method though. I fold it over with a paper towel and press super gently. The towel seems to pull out the water without much pressure at all. When I started this I could pull it off the screen easily and the end result was dryer and kept its lighter color. After sitting in the fridge the first few washes turned darker in color and the later washes kept a lighter color and softer sandy taffy like consistency.

Please excuse all the weird periods and typos. I have fat thumbs and tiny cell phone keyboards are not my friend. Auto correct routinely screws me and I don’t have the patience to proof read and correct myself on the phone
