BeardedMech's Backyard

I might have to try that. There’s a stunted Brussels sprouts plant next to that one that’s gonna get pulled since it gets no light and isn’t growing much. I’m gonna have a snack when I do now.

I appreciate the offer! I already have received so many seeds from generous people and wikis that I wouldnt feel right taking them. May have something to trade if you want though. Otherwise I’m sure there’s someone else in more need than I am.

This heat kills my motivation and energy. I work in a shop with no AC and by the end of the day I just have no energy to do what I need. I managed to get in the garden and finally prune my tomatoes down. I’m gonna put some bush beans down there now that they’ll get food enough light. Rabbits have ate all but a couple of my green bean plants.

Blue frank still doing great! Gonna take some clones for practice when I defoliate this weekend.

Forgot to mention I ate my first mater samich of the year and it was glorious. These emmy Lous are pretty damn good. Very meaty, very thin skin. perfect for a sandwich, one slice covers a whole piece of bread.

been feeling like crap the last few days. Constant migraines and nausea. Dizzy spells here and there. This happened to me a while back and they could find anything wrong with me. Then just randomly went away. Hopefully it doesn’t stick around long this time.

Garden is looking fantastic. I’m still pushing the critical reds. Humidity has been ok but expected rain for a.few days. I’m thinking of chopping one, she seems about ready. Really want to push her another week but I’ve already cut off a lot due to mold. The other one needs more time so I’m gonna push that one further.

I watered with jadam the other day and I swear you can tell they love the stuff. They just perk right up. The big bubbles are bubbling and blue Franky is stretching hard. Not sure if we will fill the 4x4 completely but damn close. I super dropped the honey cream, I just don’t want a tall plant in view so she got the squeeze.

I really need to keep a better documentation of my grows. I looked back up this thread to see when I planted the critical reds and turns out we’re actually past the predicted finish date by almost 2 weeks! Ugh… Clerical tasks have never been my forte. My wife just randomly got me a note book the other day because she thought maybe I needed one for something. There’s definitely something to the whole woman intuition thing. I’d be lost without that woman.

So the reds get the chop tonight! I did finish drying out a couple of branches I had chopped early. I trimmed and jarred them over the weekend. Smoked it a few times already and it’s pretty good! Smells pungent like over ripe fruit. Taste isn’t there yet, a bit harsh sometimes but I think the cure will bring it all home. Excited to finish these, the humidity has been down and it’s been breezy so mold seems to be dormant for now. Rain expected tomorrow so tonight is the night.

I also suggested chopping 11 days ago. In my experience plants left too long tend to catch mold.

What, do you want a cookie or something? :joy: Just messing with you! Yeah you were spot on, I learn the hard way. Gonna keep a written journal from now on for easy reference.

All washed and set out to dry last night. Put them in the closet at 60/50 temp/humidity abouts. Whole house reeks. I love it, wife…not so much. I took two of some lower branches that were just really left and threw them in the freezer to eventually become me bubble hash. I’ve been smoking the cola cut early and it’s been treating me well. Not super strong but the high is just right. Hopefully the rest smokes just as well.

Garden is poppin today. I’m super pleased with how these Big Bubbles from @duo are doing awesome. The training is going great and they’re turning into perfect round bushes.

I may have a new favorite garden buddy. These guys showed up on my critical reds during an aphid and thrip infestation a couple weeks ago. I haven’t seen any in a while but more of these daddy’s keep appearing. Seems like they’ve been putting in work. I don’t notice any real insect damage.

I love the spiders! Only thing in the greenhouse party much eating the bad bugs. I let them build webs wherever.

Me too. Whenever they make it their home and I actually see them everyday I kinda get attached to them. I had two spiders(not sure what kind but they were pretty big) that stayed in my garden for just about the whole season. I named them Frank and Steve. It was fun finding where they built there webs each day. They moved around a lot and took care of business. These daddy long legs though seem to be better at the job. This is the most pest free I’ve been in a while. Not a egg or spot on a leader to be seen.

I wonder how easy they are to breed and keep…my wife would kill me!

Things are stretching like crazy. We’re at least an inch or two taller since yesterday. Blue Frankenshine is filling out nice and putting out flowers everywhere. Big bubbles are started by to flower too. The honey cream is doing ok. It’s the least exciting of the 5. 5! That’s right I have 5 now! The strawberry pie x Gorilla cookies came up a couple days ago. Finally managed not to kill one!

That is one thing I probably won’t do is breed spiders. I’ve seen too many movies. But I do go out of my way not to kill them.
