BeardedMech's Backyard

Well another slow crappy day at work so here I am with my face in my phone. I really need a new job. But I won a dougdawson wiki this morning so that brightend my day substantially. Hopefully this one makes it here!

Confirmed another male this morning. The last rotten pineapple is out of the running sadly. We’re down to the past 3 which are all big bubble from duo. One looks very promising the other too close to tell. I popped one white widow fem and one honey cream fem to hedge my bets.

I didn’t get out in the garden to water this morning. I took some clones and put them out there but it got super cold last night so I’m worried they’re toast. Not a big loss since it was more just experimenting and learning. I have a proper cloning dome now.

Blue frankenshine will most likely make it to here final home this weekend outside. Next will be building the screen to train her. I’ll be back with pics later if I feel up to it.

FINAL NUMBERS ARE IN!!! We have two confirmed Big Bubble females and one male. So the roster for this season backyard grow is as follows:

2 Big Bubble
1 Blue Frankenshine
1 White Widow
1 Honey Cream

I’m so greatful to everyone I received seeds from. When I started this year I only had some seeds from my last grow. Now I have so many options available to me. I never imagined the generosity to be so abundant here. But it’s that type of attitude towards community and shared interest that brought me back to OG. I can’t wait to play with all these genetics and hopefully i create something truly unique and wonderful I can share back with you all.

Spent the morning on the greenhouse instead of out selling plants. That endeavor has been less than lucrative so far and my regular duties have been neglected and I’m behind. Still haven’t planted my own garden fully, Weeds are out of control, mulch still needs to be payed down. I need to catch up on things then resume selling when I’m caught up or the hanging baskets start to bloom. Whatever comes first.

Anyways did some defoliation today on the afghanis and the tomatoes. I’m really contemplating digging up the two maters on the end of the greenhouse bed to make room for a big bubble. But one of this maters is an Emmy lou which I’ve never gotten to grow successfully and is now doing friggin great. I do have a couple extras I could plant elsewhere and I do have on other in the outside bed… Decisions decisions…

The two clones are surprisingly still alive! I’m gonna put them into some solo cups and then… I’m not really sure what I’ll do with them.

Afghanis are looking good. I noticed AA6 is a bit frostier than AA3 despite being almost 2 Weeks behind it. AA6 has way more trichomes on the sugar leaves and is filling out faster. May be genetics or possibly all the abuse AA3 suffered. They’re in the same pot with the same feeding. AA3 leaves are starting to fade. I’ve pretty much stopped feeding nitrogen at this point

Here are the two big bubble girls patiently waiting to be transplanted. Maybe this weekend. They’re for sure outgrowing those little cups. Doing better than I expected for such a tiny container.

I keep forgetting to snap a picture of the critical reds but they’re doing pretty well. They’ve been on the yellow side so I amended with some extra blood meal a few days ago and they seemed to like that. May need to change up the ferts for these ones.

Here’s a shot of the two critical red gals in the garden. They’re still a bit on the yellow side. I think I’m gonna have to up the feeding in these two.

Afghanis still moving right along. We’re about a week away from predicted harvest date for AA3. AA6 has caught up to AA3. Her buds are as big as AA3 and much frostier.

AA3 is nearing the finish line. Hairs are mostly red. I need to find my loop. The calyxs are getting huge. They look like they’re filled with seeds but I can’t feel any hard seeds in there. Looks abnormal to me.

AA6 is kicking ass. Still way frostier than AA3. I have high hopes for this one finishing well.

And here’s the rest of the garden. Weeding still needs to be done. Some things need to be culled. Mulched and so on. Potatoe tower is looking good. I’m still upset I didn’t pack enough filler in there. It sunk down about half way. Hopefully I get some decent potatoes out of it.

Dude those buds look kick ass! The calyx all seem to be very large on these, like you said abnormally large. They are just full of air, I’ve squeezed a few dozens looking for seeds :joy:

Thanks! Good to know it’s normal for these. I was searching all over for pollin sacks but couldn’t find anything.

Had a fun Father’s day weekend, that’s why no update :joy:. My buddy and his wife took me out for drinks and as per fathers day rules I BBQ’d some pulled pork on the smoker. Had a swim in the pool with friends and family, it was some much needed fun in the sun.

These critical reds are doing great. They seem to be some heavy feeders. I’m definitely gonna have to up the feeding now they’re in flower. Did some defoliation. Lots of yellowing lower leaves. Need to up watering schedule now too and get some mulch in the pots. I’m way behind on the garden in general. But everyones healthy.

AA3 is ready to harvest today. Predicted harvest was Monday but I had a wifi microscope coming so I wanted to wait for that lol. She’s definitely ready. Bud production has slowed. I’m not super impressed with this one to be honest. I’m sure it was my own doing as AA6 is looking much better in terms of bud and resin production. The autos are for sure less forgiving and I’ll need to learn and adjust for that. Im gonna run these again and mayb cross with the critical reds in the future.

I didn’t notice this until I looked at the pics but I think I have a manner maybe? Can anyone confirm is this a herm?

yes, it’s a nanner…
Go over her closely, one or two you can pick off and hope for the best.

Welp looks like I’m gonna cut them both tonight then just to be safe. AA6 is looking real close anyhow. I’m don’t want to risk the critical reds. Well crap.

They look about a month from being done?

Supposedly 90 days. Predicted harvest of AA3 was Monday but I wanted to let it go a bit longer. AA6 is about a week or two behind AA3. So at least a week left on her.

Someone else may weigh in , but I don’t harvest anything with white pistils. Those should double in weight in the next few weeks.

Scarlet Grapes Auto just harvested about 8 days after this picture.

Oh I think I see the confusion. Those first pics are of the critical red hourglass autos. These are the afghani autos. First one is AA3 second is AA6

Nice grow log, I’ve enjoyed reading it and your family is doing well and the lawn mower is still mowing.

Sorry to see the herm, they happen. I always thought those type were from the female itself not being pollinated and they’re just trying to fulfil the life cycle. I usually pick mine off unless there’s a bunch, then I cut. Gotta get them before they open though…

Oops, sorry for the confusion ! Those look ready. BTW, I sometimes notice those small roundish leaves come out on photos when the pistils are gone. I call them "squirrel ear " leaves.
