I posted this in the “Shit That Killed Elvis” thread about Silverback supposedly being the original breeder of that and IBG it’s the best origin story I’ve heard yet, lots of small details make sense like the BOEL connection to CA botanists etc:

Interesting story on the possible origins of Indiana Bubblegum. I had not heard of it before. The timelines and genetic inputs seem plausible from my experience with the '91 clone we used in FDM’s stabilized Bubblegum line. It’s definitely a balanced indica/sativa hybrid, and the overall morphology, terp mix and head would support Mexican lineage on the sativa side.
