I use this one, and it does well for me. It’s a few years old. There are probably newer models with better specs.

Honestly speaking, if your cell phone camera has a “Macro” setting, it’ll be better than any loupe or scope. I was dumb and didn’t even realize mine had the setting til after buying a scope from amazonny.

@JerBear I have this setting…any tips on how to use it for best results…??
I have been using magnifying glass app for Android but it isn’t very clear.

Need to test the macro on my phone, learn from others mistakes :pray:t3::man_mage:t3::fire::heart:

Is that from the app or the setting that’ll let you zoom in a shade more? Looks like you’re really close to the detail you’re looking for. As long as you can see whether those trichs are clear, cloudy and or amber, you’ve got it.

This is from the magnifying glass app…do you take a pic with the macro lens and zoom in on the pic to see trichs…??

No, the macro is just a setting for the stock camera. On my phone for example(Galaxy A51) you open the camera, make sure the flash is on because it becomes a light, touch “More” and then “Macro” from the options, then it tells you to hold the camera 3-5 cm away from the subject of your pic.

My favorite are the Carson brand handheld scopes.
The one linked below is the one I have but they also make higher magnification ones too.

The Carson is a steal at its current price. I paid more than double for it when I bought mine years ago.

These little guys (linked below) are also really nice to have for the price. They work fantastic for determining ripeness of the trichomes. I like 20-60x for checking ripeness, and 60x is even a bit much. I like to get a wider view. It makes it easier to tell IMO.
I don’t think those little scopes actually do 60x. It’s probably more like 20-40x but they work great for looking at trichs.

I also have a few cheap jewelers loupes, a couple handheld scopes that go up to 120x and a real actual microscope too. They all have their place and all get used frequently.
I do also have a digital microscope but that’s my least favorite of the bunch.
