Best loupe that doesn't require bud intercourse

I liked my Vivosun 30/60x – but it requires that I essentially mount the plant to see anything – and I think I keep damaging the trichs in the process. And when sticky shit got all over it, which is inevitable, I think rubbing alcohol permanently melted the lenses. Cmon!

I’ve been looking to upgrade my $10 clip on scope with a good loupe. Ive read there is a big difference between a true 10x loupe and the cheap knockoffs and keep seeing the brand belomo recommended but haven’t been able to talk myself into it yet.

A jeweler friend directed me to that one and I like it very much.
He claimed it has the color & clarity of loupes costing 5X.
I bought both the 10x and 15x, much prefer the 10x.

Glass is preferred. Alcohol and other solvents will permanently damage the cheap plastic loupes.

That’s on point @NoCal, a high quality 10x, and a tripod are enough, along with basic editing. Clip it on your iPhone with a clothes pin or whatever. Adequate, not elegant.

I propose if anyone needs a loupe to tell when your shits ready…, You need to grow more or just be in the plants presence more!!

Some of us just like the additional assurance a close-up view provides. It doesn’t make us all noobs or boobs. :joy:

Trichome porn is awsome! Idk if budshot is still a thing but you just attach it to your phone…

I use the loupe for pest identification more than flower canvass.
Where I grow the spider mites are firm in their Easter tradition, they ‘rise from the dead’ after 3 days…

I like to be RIGHT in their presence. Microscopically. I’m going to shrink myself down like Mike TeaVee and dance around on them.

I don’t have good answers. I broke my first loop and bought a USB microscope I like. I need to get it mounted to a tripod to help with clarity, especially when taking pics

Hey CkNugz: I’m a noob, so I need a loupe to help me understand part of the process. Someday, I hope to develop the nearly shaman-like capabilities of guys like you who can judge by vibe when it’s ready. (I’m being serious, for sure.)

We all start somewhere, right?

had a belemo 10x for maybe a decade now, worth it, and does the job, thing is with nigher magnification is one you need more light and two your depth of view is very shallow, a true 10x works well for our needs.

If you have an iPhone just use your magnifier app and you can see trich’s very well. No need to purchase anything. Or just use your camera and zoom in.

Ding ding ding. Thank you. Last message I saw yesterday and I immediately said to self, “Your joints are older than this guy’s. And not in a good way.” Thank you.

And I was in the navy……. back when I had new joints!
