Hey bro, can I chew on one of these buds? It’s too cute to just smoke haha gratitude for knowledge :facepunch: :lion:

Whats up bro! I try not to focus on the other things because i feel like genetics and nutrition are what really matters… all the rest is secondary! I have all sorts of setups and lights :v: lh301 qbs and some old cobs… what kind of specifics you want to know? just ask whatever and ill try my best to answer

I had that feeling and that was it!! It’s already a point to unlock and start my cultivation thinking more about that… However, how do you deal with something related to high humidity and pest control in general?

I have a dehumidifier that i run when needed… try to keep RH under 50%…

I usually get predator mites once or twice a year, of if needed… they usually keep it clean… but i also am very aware of what i introduce in my garden… thats usually how they sneak in

Hey Big, I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you about nutrition. Do you take any supplements or is it just what’s in the soil?

I can answer that, since I run his recipe:
Just what’s in the soil.
You can topdress some stuff or use compost teas if you want but it really isn’t necessary it seems and might even do more harm than good.

For small pots under 4litters i usually top dress every 2-3 weeks during flower :v:

Could you tell us what materials you use for top dress?

Same stuff i usually ammend my mix… neem, malted barley, guano and castings  tablespoon of each for each 4l container :v: seems to get the trick done

Excuse my ignorance, but would malted barley be beer barley? What are you delivering to the soil by putting it in? First time I’ve seen it

save big L!!!

I looked into this malted barley and what it was used for. I found some studies and wanted to share them with you to see if they match up with our practice.

These are the enzymes we are looking for in barley, right?

α-amylase: Degrades starch into simple sugars, providing energy for beneficial microorganisms.

β-amylase: Acts in the release of maltose from starch, contributing to the availability of fermentable sugars.

Protease: Breaks down proteins into amino acids, enriching the soil with essential nutrients.

Urease: Converts urea into ammonia, facilitating the assimilation of nitrogen by plants.

Phosphatase: Releases phosphorus from organic compounds, increasing its availability in the soil.

Chitinase: Degrades chitin, a component of the cell walls of pathogenic fungi and insect exoskeletons, acting in the natural defense of plants.

From what I read, is this what we can expect with its use?

15–20% reduction in flowering time.

Increased resin production and plant vigor.

Improved branch structure, reducing the need for supports.

Stimulation of microbial activity, promoting healthier soil.

Has your crop improved in any of these ways since you started using it?

Do you have any specifications on which malted barley you use? I’m thinking of perhaps implementing it as a top dress in the next cycle.

Thanks for sharing your crop with us!! :facepunch: :green_heart:
