BigMike55’s Ongoing Cannabis Log (Part 1)

I own one. Cool design, but the oscillating mech, gets wobbly after prolonged use, unlike standard walmart specials. What i do like about it, is it is very long, and the air flows almost from top to bottom on that fan.

So, when the oscill broke, i took it and hung it horizontal to the ground, blowing air under my plants canopy. As i said it is nice and long, so it works great hung that way for 4 x 4 tent under current.

What @Cartwright just said. I have 2. They are cheap. Used both for 2 years now. Have not broken yet, but I expect them to at a moment’s notice. They are cheap but they work for the 4X4 tents so far.

I never thought about hanging it sideways. That is an excellent idea. They do throw a lot of air. And sometimes I think even at low speed, it’s too much air movement. So much so that I have mine aimed at the tent walls so I get more indirect air movement. Even at low speed this way I get just the right amount of leaf movement. Just my opinion and method, others do it differently.

I use just the clear cups. If they have a problem with it I haven’t seen it. You get a great view of the root development so I would think if there were dying or struggling roots it would be quickly noticed. I’ve even scoped them and even the capillaries developed well.
Just my limited experience.
Don’t mind me and my 2 cents worth. (Being generous) LOL :v:

How dare you give me 4 cents and call it 2. The audacity!!!
To be honest, I didn’t invent it. Someone else told me and I thought it sounded good. I have been shown that the roots don’t seem to care. Who woulda thunk it?

I’m new on this forum. Eagles009 enlightened me so I dropped in. This place seems to be a deep well of information and I haven’t seen any bickering nonsense. I think I’ll stick around.
I might even start a journal. You guys might enjoy watching me learn how not to do it one mistake at a time.:grin::upside_down_face:
I’ve only got three clones going right now but I’ll be dropping beans soon. Maybe then.

Ok, boys and girls. Here is my weekly report. I had to remove one of the White Widow Autofem. She had some rusty looking spots last week. Thinking it was a Cal Mag deficiency up increased the dosage of that to a tsp per gallon. It was only on one plant. It did not help anything. So I took the rusty leaves off to see what happens next. They got rusty again. Generally the older bottom leaves. Bottom line is I removed her so she doesnt screw up her sisters. This is what it looks like.

So, here we are down one plant. She is an autoflower so I will leave her outside on the patio to see what she does. So, here are the remainder of the harum.

Look at the beautiful green on those clones. I love those plants.

And not to be outdone. Here are what the White Widows are looking like.

This is my very first time running Sativa plants as well as first time running Auto. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah. Almost forgot. My little baby girl. This plant is a clone from the Afghani I ran last run. She was about 2 weeks from harvest when I realized this was the only seed I had of her. So I cut 2 cuttings from the bottom of the plant. Set them up to clone. I thought they would never take root. Finally 1 started showing some roots. Here she is after cloning and revegging this little beauty.

You can see the wonky-assed leaves but now she is starting to put on regular cannabis leaves. This is about 6 weeks after cutting her from momma. Momma’s nugs were so hard, if you threw one across the room, someone over there would get a serious knot on his head. I hope thins clone produces as well. Good frickin smoke too.

No. Quick story on that. Last year my wife planted a bell pepper seed that produced niceley. I was just learning to clone. I was cloning everything just to get the hang of it. At the end of growing season my wife said too bad we have to start all over from seed again next season. So I clipped the top of the plant and cloned it and there she is. I have already got 3 (small) peppers off her and put in in some spaghetti sauce. Plant is still doing great and will put her outside as soon as it gets warm. So yeah. Bell Pepper Clone.

And yes. That was going to be my challenge this grow. Guess it still is. But it turned out the White Widow were feminised. I found out after I had topped them and started LST. About 3 weeks into veg they started flowering. The friend that gave those to me said they were WW regs. He is no longer with us to verify. R. I. P.
So my challenge went from sativa/indica to feminized sativa/indica. Its all good. I have never run a sativa plant always indica.

Looks healthy too.Spring is here for sure.
Everyone is getting ready for planting .

I thought I needed to do some plant abuse. My 4 Blue Cookies were starting to get a bit too bushy and the 2 mains on each plant was getting too tall. I cleaned up quite a bit of the underbrush and flopped over the tops. I cant remember what the technique is called where you gently pinch and roll the stem until you feel it crack a few times. Then bend her over. I guess the thinking is that the other tops will catch up to the mains while the mains are in repair mode.

The White Widows are coming along pretty nice. I have not done any ‘training’ to these other than I topped each plant once.
