Okay, i had to do some digging and I now question they are actually the same strain. I found this article from 2013 on thcfarmer:

Somebody on there had a side by side pic of them (along with an 82 version i hadn’t heard of?). Also, they both have a page on leafly. Apparently they both got stolen outta uw labs 
one in the 80s and one in the 90s.

One thing that caught my attention in the article on thcfarmer:

conditions"
So, my theory is 84 black is one of these strains and uw is the other. The only way we’d really know is by digging thru the university library/archives to see if they have any info, or old police reports maybe.
