excellent pics guys @lophophora.ca @Pigeonman
Update on my Black Snow and so far so GREAT
This is a 2x2 Mammoth grow tent, with a HGL100v2 4000K, .8gal Air-Pot, LST trained, getting treated with @BudBusterPro and is being currently fed 120% it’s usual nutrient feed.
I have curbed a thrips attack with predatory mites after a heavy wash down while I was flushing out the excess salts. The yellowing looks more dramatic in the image due to improper colour settings on my phone’s camera but you can clearly see that what I’m doing is working…
…well, you all can tell me if you also think this is working* lol. (3D printed seed-coin from made by a friend of mine for me from @Bobgrows 's design for size-reference. )
Blacksnow looks like a winner guys
Thicc! I have to try BBP, everyone here seems to love it. I think that hex design is from @Mr.Sparkle .
I want to know how you got the knuckles that big on that plant.
Considering that I had a few thingy-files for them you are probably right @tresbundles a serious thanks for mentioning it as I want to make sure @Mr.Sparkle gets their credit for such awesome!
I’ve got an OG version of these from @Bobgrows but this hex was printed by a buddy; and I sent him every thingy-file I had so he could test out his preference based on his printer.
looks like he has a resin printer like myself , i do have a OG logo puck just haven’t uploaded it yet
It got born in water and then lived in pure castings until it’s roots found the promix bx. I feed it distilled water for week 1, then nutrient salts in a linear curve up over 3 weeks at 33% / 66% / 100% feed rates, then after I started BBP I increased nutes up a little at a time with it now being about 120% normal feeding strength regardless of the bugs trying to attack.
When it had 6 nodes I topped it; and when it’s branches were long enough to reach to the edge of it’s air-pot’s walls the LST training began. I tend to crush the branches near the main stalk so they become fibrous and malleable instead of snapping or breaking. This forced stress doesn’t really worry me as they get a steady feed of silica from the start of nute feeding to improved cell wall structure so they are better able to endure periods of stress.
Last week I hosed it down in the bathtub to remove as many bugs that dared, let it dry, sprayed BBP again (7 day intervals), flushed the hell out of the root mass until it was clear again before putting it back in it’s “pen” and then hung up 2x predatory mites sachets to deal with what I didn’t catch over my retaliation.
I then kept up with the usual feedings but decided to go all in and have been adding a few ml of pure liquid darkness we all really just call liquid carbon to really make the Black in Black Snow as KVLT as it can be.
I know this much: he’s loves his Warhammer and Anime statues so he made himself a mad lab including multiple printers, full ventilation, a washing and curing machine, and all with the intent of continuously adding more kit so he can one day eventually print all the parts for 1 large “item” in a single printing session.
Buddy makes me proud, and I reap the benefits of his hobby all for the cost of materials and a little overhead for his prep/cleaning time!
ahah yeah thats what my printer was mainly purchased for, printing off minis.
give him the suggestion of .125mm layer lines its what i do and what the models are designed around and they take about 6 mins a plate as say if hes printing minis hes likely in the 0.02-0.05mm range so being these dont need the uber details of a mini you can print them pretty quick.
Thanks @Mr.Sparkle i’ll pass that info along to him!
I have been enjoying reading through and lookimg at everyone who’s growing up some Black Snow and I’m just bummed about missing out on these so happy growing to all amd thanks for your time and efforts to get some magic beans out @anonymous4289 to the OG community! The Doc
How did it produce for you.
The first plant was 4-5 ounces. Dense but spongy. The second was very dense (closer to the 88g13 crosses ive tried) and yielded about 6-8 ounces. Of course i’m finding i prefer the first haha.
Good bye, my potbound princess
Another Black Snow is released into the wild. As there never really was a plan for the bonsai this should make for a good transition, her purpose has been realized.
I’m sure this Black Snow will go from bonsai to booming in no time at all.
Hopefully I will get some photos come October.
Here’s a picture sent to me just this evening by the “Adopt a Black Snow” foundation. Just look at that thumbs up of approval!
I suspect the future holds more Black Snow photos for us yet.
Mine smells like a BERRY TRUCK EXPLODED!
How’s yours @lophophora.ca ?
One smelled like eating a berry lozenge at the gas pump, and the other reminiscent of meat. Both were absolutely chronic.
Probably just me but the Black Snow also seemed to burn at 3x-4x the rate as my usual homegrown.
