Blackout Lemonaid - hybrid hype

I think I’m most likely just going to flower them out when they’re ready (once they show sex and I can get a couple clones off each).
Just be aware that they very well might foxtail and spit out new white pistils.

But i’ll clone all the females and run my favorites of the batch again come fall to show what they look like under proper conditions!

The seed I passed the least around was, Plant ‘F’, which I believe you received. Looking back at my notes, it looks like it sampled with the heaviest flavour. I did not have too many packs to share unfortunately. I have a good feeling about what you have there for tasty smoke. A real pallet clinger, I could taste the smell on exhale with a lingering aftertaste. Some of the other plants such as D and C also had major flavour. As I became more acquainted with the jars, I had ended up noting F as heaviest flavor loiterer. I have a couple going for this seasons crosses.

Also, found an interesting thing. I had popped this seed (A1 BX) directly off of a green plant on 4.5 weeks from pollination (I let my seeds go 6 weeks - so 1.5 weeks early). I didn’t even let them dry, they were slow starting, but now popping. I thought it was cool, I found this.

These seedlings have only been in heat, heat mat, outside greenhouse only after it gets real hot, and then back into the warm house in the evenings. I love what the sun does to seedlings, so I’ve let it hit the sun as soon as it breached the soil.

Thought it was pretty neat to see the pink, might have something to do with how early the seed was picked and dipped. or maybe I should blame it on the lemonaid.

Edit: out of 160 other seedlings - also born into the sun in the same environment, it’s the only one that has shown any color. (it’s also arching its true leaves funny)

That’s awesome to read! Flavor is very much a top priority for me. Even if it’s really good smoke, if the flavor isn’t there I don’t enjoy it nearly as much. It’s a big part of the overall smoking experience for me.

Interesting! I’ll be curious to see how this one develops.

Btw, that’s a damn nice pheno hunt! Wish I had space to do #’s like that! lol

Slightly misleading - 160 total seedlings - I am running maybe 20 Blackout Lemonaids. Pointing out that it wasn’t environment - letting some early picked BX beans dry now and will pop another dozen for the BX 2 males.

It’s been work for certain - just put alot of them into the swamp after some up potting to have it drop 5 degrees below freezing. Looks like they came out on top. Will post some pics on this year’s swamp thread.

How do the blackout lemonaid do outdoors? Any issues with them? When would you expect them to finish?

Here’s mine so far. I popped 6, 3 didnt make it. So i popped the rest of the pack. They’ll be a week behind.
These will be grown outdoors so we’ll find out when they finish. My goal is 1 or 2 nice females i can grow for smoke and maybe pollinate a few select branches.

Too good, will be excellent to see them perform for you, sorry a few let go out of the gate… with some luck the remaining should make up for it.

@GreenOHGrow I have not grown out any of the ‘Blackout Lemonaid’ outdoors. Thinking about it, not sure why they didn’t make it on the roster last swamp season - I spent the season betting on reveggin the F2 A-1 cut I had found the winter prior. The back bone crosses to the line were all made outdoors. From the Sorbetto x Tux and then some of the Violeta work. Some of those can be found in the Tiger Mint Kush hunt thread. I also ran the Black Leb - the back bone to the Tuxedo Hashplant as well, and crossed her with the same Violeta father. This season will be my first with the Blackout Lemonaid line outdoors. I’ll have most of the F4’s I passed around, including the A1 cut with the two F3 males, as well as the A1 BX I acquired from that cross. For flower, my standard is 10 weeks, indoor our out, the crosses worked outdoors ahead of this line would have also been flowered at 10 weeks. For producing seed, I aim to pollinate by the end of the 4th week. Letting seed sit for at least 6 weeks.

How are your tomatoes setting up, I bet you have fruit set where you are?

Mine have a ways to go - wish me luck :crossed_fingers:.

I still have the tomatoes in a 72 cell flat. They’re begging to get put in the ground, I just haven’t had time. I’m behind on getting a new tunnel built which is where I intend to plant them. The frames most of the way up, so I’ll probably finish next week.

So i can now confidently say everything soiltech touches becomes gold . My brother you need to consider selling your seeds. Im serious on that your stuff is quite impressive.

That was the debate. I have some lemon g x lil bit o soul from Hoku. Lil bit o soul is lemon g x lolab valley landrace so I’m hoping I’ll get lemon g leaning cross but with improved mold resistance and shorter flowering time. I was hoping to run those outdoors and maybe a couple blackout lemonaid so I can see what the lemon profile is like on that. I am wanting to work towards a quick flowering, mold resistant lemon for growing outdoors in a humid environment.

Cool that sounds like a plan there. Well in the meantime if i run across something heavy on the lemons ill lyk. I know theres something ive grown in the last few years that was extremely lemony. Maybe it was lemon tree? Funny you have the same love for lemon :lemon: that i got for berries. Good luck in your search buddy

Man i got the worst luck with tomatoes i swear. Everytime i grow them caterpillars or whatever treat them like a buffet. I love animals so i dont have it in me to kill them or spray around the base. These lil dudes are so cool yet so destructive. Also another type that spins cacoons everywhere and makes a mess…

I don’t love all lemons. Actually I don’t like most lemons. There’s a specific lemon profile that I like thats incredibly hard to find. The lemon g is the perfect lemon for me but I like trying others to see what they could bring to the table. The blackout lemonaid has such rave reviews I feel like I need to at least try it. Maybe it could add something to my lemon g lines. I also love berries. Lemon and berries are the two that captivate me the most.

Why not give them a potted plant to themselves to eat and spray the rest with BT? That will let you keep some to watch and still get to have your healthy unmunched tomatoes. My raspberry leaves got absolutely destroyed by little caterpillars early this season because I hadn’t started IPM spraying for the season yet.

This morning I moved the seeded plants to the veg room - and chopped the flower plants to hang in their room.

Got a few shots outside - sun always gives me the best lighting for photos.

In a few days I will take down the seed plants for the BX beans from both males. Have some seeds already popping for the BX 2’s out in the swamp with a handful of other BL selections to mix and match for the F5 & F6’s.

Just start planting a bunch of milkweed to move them to!
