I’m here to share with you my journey with Blueberry and Skywalker Haze from Dutch Passion seed bank.
For the enclosure, the new arrivals are residing inside of a Gorilla 2x2.5x6 tent with the AC Infinity environmental controls ducted between two light cycles with another Gorilla 2x2.5x6.5 tent.
For the illumination, (x12) Bridgelux EB3 Slim LED strips 340mm long (816 diodes total) in the 4000k spectrum, 80 CRI. The driver is a Meanwell XLG-100-L-AB, capable of over-driving to 1050mA. This current configuration will over-drive @ ~764mA on 1/16” thick Aluminium angle with temperatures close to 90°F at the LED backing. With the height set to ~24” @ ~80% the array is achieving ~200 ppfd in the center (cold).
The flowering luminaire has yet to be determined, there is ample opportunity to build and test and if all else fails we can always rely on the Birdgelux Vero’s to be way too powerful.
Everything is as expected for a 24 hr light cycle, roots are showing at the bottom. I’ve decided to go straight to 3 gallon fabric pots to try a technique that I think will be very interesting.
The Bridgelux 4000K 80 CRI spectrum produces amazing PAR for the money. With absolutely no supplementation @ 50W I’m achieving over 200 ppfd with excellent internodal spacing, vibrant leaf growth with accelerated root growth. Both of these little girls are already drinking from 3 gallon fabric pots with wick reservoirs!
The proof is in the pudding, it is Bridgelux or bust for me.
Very tight node spacing, strong shoots on the Haze; the Blueberry is about a week or two behind the Haze and I’m hoping to see similar growth patterns.
