BODHI Clusterfunk and SSDD

Finally got a bit of time to get this thread up to date ! Sorry for the delay, harvest, reset and life have combined to take most of the time I have had recently.

It took 10 more days from my last post for most of the plants to start looking ready enough. That brought me to day 70. I harvested the SSDD #3 and the Clusterfunk #5 first. I did my last watering on day 64, so those 2 went 6 days without water before chop. They were flushed for 22 days. Here a some final pics from day 69. This is the SSDD #3

Here is the Clusterfunk #5 on the same day.

Next I chopped Clusterfunk #3 on day 71, one week without water, 23 days flush
I noticed that the clusterfunk was more difficult to trim than the SSDD, just more leafy areas along the stems and stuff. Here is the Clusterfunk #3 at day 70

On day 72 I chopped the last 3, the SSDD #4 and #2, and the Clusterfunk#1. 8 days without water 24 days of flush.
Here is the SSDD#2 on day 69

Here is the Clusterfunk #1 day 70

The entire harvest took me about 20 hours to trim. Longest plant was the ssdd 3, which took 4 hours, the quickest was the Clusterfunk 5 at 2 hours and 30 minutes, most the rest were around 3 hours per plant. Since most went quite a while without water before chop they dried out quickly. I had started putting the first ones I chopped into curing jars before I had finished manicuring the last ones I chopped. They have now all been curing for 9 days. The SSDD 3 is getting burped the most. Several of the others I left closed for 5 days. I will give the harvest weights and a smoke report after the cure starts to slow down.

A bit of unfortunate news. I ended up killing the SSDD#4 mom and the Clusterfunk #1 mom. These were the ones I figured would be the keepers. I loved the way the ssdd4 looked and grew from very early on and it looked fantastic at harvest. The Clusterfunk 1 was also the clear winner of that strain. Big chunky nugs, the best structure and nice frost. I just got caught up with trimming and let them go a bit too long without water. Of course the other 2 moms I had both survived fine, but they will not be kept. I have uppotted them and they will be getting flowered. They were originally jus being kept as backups in case I didnt get enough females of the Mothers Milk f2 seedlings…

That didnt go so well. As of today I believe I only got 1 female from the 6 Mothers milk seeds I started. The runt is still indeterminate, but is looking like a dude to me, still gonna wait to cull til I see nuts. Thats just the luck of the draw with seeds. At least the one girl I have looks great ! I took 5 cuts off her today and plan to flip tomorrow.

Since I only have that 1 female MM plant and the 2 less desirable moms to run for the next crop I was concerned. 3 plants in that tent isnt quite enough to make the run worth it.

I decided to try one of the GG4 autos from @nefrella to help fill in the space. I germinated it in cup and paper towel, and planted it yesterday, hoping to see it above the surface tomorrow. First time trying an auto ! Curious about upplanting ?

Best regards to everyone on here, looking forward to catching up on some of your threads soon. Stay safe my friends !

Unfortunate about the keepers but I’m sure there is plenty of fire waiting for you in the future.

You did a great job growing and documenting these. I ordered a pack of Clusterfunk and Neroli 91 and I can’t wait to pop them hopefully by the summer I can get to them.
Looking forward to the smoke reports for sure

I’m looking into this as well. Saw on reddit night owl group that there’s a person who veges in a solo for approximately 22 days till the roots are out of the bottom of the solo, then transplants. We shall see the reply, because that could seriously be a game changer for me at least. Plant mass numbers, cull the non starters, up plant the winners, finish the grow.

More to come, lol…standby.

Oh @mtntrogger plants are lookin hella fine my man!!!

I have always started in solos. I have found through many, many grows, that they usually do best if uppotted from those cups at right around 2 weeks. Maybe a bit longer but with 3 weeks in a solo they are often rootbound enough that it slows their progress a slight bit. In my experience, if I upplant at around 14 days the plants end up growing faster, with less or no “plateau” or slow down in growth. Just my 2 cents. Thank you for checking out my pics.

Nice ! They are some really nice plants man. I definitely had a few herms so keep your eye out. But a few of the larf buds Ive sampled uncured had a really nice chemmy, lemon and citrus blossom thing going. Im looking forward to sampling all these once they are a bit more properly cured.

This is exactly what i was suspecting, and will be doing from here on out. I can plant from medium/medium and get better results i believe. Makes starting the seeds in the verm/perlite going to be interesting lol. Thanks @mtntrogger

I’ll second this, I like to keep apples to apple, oranges to oranges

So I might be getting closer to these buds being cured. Ive found myself drawn to the Clusterfunk #1 pheno, which was my choosen keeper that I ended up killing. It has a very distinct profie that I love, Lemon, pinesol, and a bit of BO. Been smoking from that jar the most. Several other jars still have off aromas or flavors, some are drier that I would like at this stage. I bought a single boveda pack (first time) at the grow store and I have to say Im really impressed so far. Ive just been rotating it between each of the jars that are the driest after 24 hours in a jar, the buds seem to be in much better condition and the aroma is improved after the boveda treatment. I need more of these !

Here is a pic of the GG auto (fastbuds) from @nefrella at day 10 from germination. Has only been fed distilled water at this point. Planning on uppotting her on monday (day15). So excited for this one, my first auto ! Cant wait to try more of these

Some more exciting news … I got cuts of my legendary Bruce Banner back. Been several years now, but a friend of a friend had kept it and passed it back to our mutual friend who let me take cuts.

The cuts look like they are rooting well at the moment. This might change the direction I decide to go as far as what seeds to pop next. This is one of the best all around strains Ive ever grown in over 25 years of growing. I always wanted to sort of “recreate” her in seed form. I spent literally years trying to hunt down possible lines to use as an outcross.

The mother of BB3 is supposedly a local colorado og that was called “Coal creek kush” It has long since vanished from earth. However the father of this strain was Strawberry Diesel, which is not quite as hard to come across in seed form. I found a few packs off those Straw D seeds here and there over the years, but didnt end up buying any because I had doubts about their legitimacy.

Enter Overgrow and Olereynard. Motz was looking to reduce his collection a bit due to some unfortunate health issues. I knew that he was the type of guy that really vets his gear before buying. I snagged that pack of Straw D from him and it is now very high up on the start list.

If I continue with this project the plan would be to cross the best Straw D male (hopefully there is one) with my Bruce Banner, then do the same with the off spring (bx to bb3) - essentially start the cubing process, and maybe after 2 generations of that I could try to in breed the line to stabilize those Banner traits. Stay tuned my friends !

Those came from Sodm, I hope they turn out better than Jaws’s crappy moms beans.

Yeah, I remember my Clusterfunk smelled like BO big-time. But it tasted really, really good. How’s the high on yours?

Those Bovedas work well, I always throw a couple in every jar. I’ve got weed that’s over a year old that’s still smoking great. The buds are still sticky, too, but they have that long-cured golden color to them. I don’t think there’s any avoiding that. Matter of fact, I just smoked some year-old Golden Triangle/OMG two nights ago and it’s still really smooth and super-stony. If you go to the Boveda website, they’re pretty cheap. I think it’s like 12 bucks for a ten pack.

That’s cool about the whole Bruce Banner/Strawberry Diesel episode. Hope you log that grow here.

Bro your the man for always checking my posts and posting on here, Im stoked to see every one of your posts, thank you !

I honestly cant speak about the high precisely. I dont recall (lol) trying it first thing in the morning…and after that im usually high all day. Unless its something absurdly strong it takes a lot for me to notice. The exceptions would be either something super racy and anxiety inducing, which I would notice and usually not enjoy, or something that just puts me down, which is pretty uncommon for me to find, just aint seen it around for a while nowadays. Legit Bubba used to do the trick.

I plan on doing a full on “nube” style smoke review when they are fully cured. Big shoes to fill there, so I will do my best to be fully sober for the initial review of each pheno.

I will for sure do a log with a seed giveaways along the way !

Really cool info about the bovedas. I will definitely continue to use them from now on.

Man, Im just grateful to have the opportunity to get to try these things out. Thank you again, I sincerely appreciate it.

I am starting to feel really confident in my selection ability. Ive noticed on the last several seed runs Ive done, that the plants I notice fairly early on as hopefuls have almost always finished as the winners.

I am at the point where if something isnt pretty much exactly what I am looking for I recognize it early and have no problem culling and moving on until I do see something that has the traits I want.

With the Strawberry D I will be looking for a Diesel terp leaning male that isnt too floppy or stretchy. If its there, its there, if not I will continue looking for mr right.

Or as Jay Z says “on to the next one” lol

Sorry for the lull y’all. I want to wrap up this thread properly, so I am planning on doing smoke reports every morning until I get through all the jars. Many jars seem like they are still curing and are not yet fully expressing their full terp potential, but its time to get these done. Today I will start with the plant that has been my favorite, since at this point Ive almost smoked all of it.

The Clusterfunk #1 pheno

Appearance = 6 out of 10 - Decent looking nugs, but not covered in crazy frost, nice color but pretty ordinary overall.

Structure = 8/10 Dense feel but not rock hard. Not fluffy when broken apart, still firm.

Aroma =9/10 - Not sure why Im not giving it a 10, maybe just not quite “10” loud. I am a slut for the kind of aromas this herb has. Quite complex, definetely led by the lemon and citrus notes, but also has some savory element along with a light hint of skunky body odor, lemongrass, also a very faint cologne like smell. Shows a hint of burnt rubber when broken up.

Flavor = 7/10 - Nothing to crazy here, just pulled from my 2 1/2 foot straight tube bong. Pretty mild flavor, pretty well mimics the aromas, but less intense on the palate. Maybe shows the lemon and BO a bit more than the other flavors, does show a bit of chem flavor as well, but not mouth coating by any means. A little bit of spice flavor lingering at the finish.

Potency= 7/10 - Only been 5 minutes since I pulled the tube and I already notice a uppy euphoric buzz starting, so its certainly not weak weed, I am usually a wake and bake/ smoke all day type of weedhead, so I have a ridiculous tolerance.

Effect=8/10- Again, a nice bit of lift right out the gate. Some euphoric feelings, a bit of a rush, but no anxiety, there is also a noticeable confusing thing too. Like I am suddenly struggling to spell and articulate words the way I want. The overall feeling is up and happy with a bit of confusion.

Duration = 3/10- Not long enough for me ! But again, take this with a grain of salt. I have a super high tolerance. I wanted another shortly after I took the first one yesterday. I felt like the buzz from that first bong rip lasted just about an hour. I waited probably 2 or 3 hours before smoking more just to fully gauge the duration

Sounds good so far. It’s pretty sweet you got a little lemon/citrus thing going on with yours. Mine was just straight-up BO/onion/garlic, but the flavor was super-piney and hashy, so it worked out.

I wish I still had pictures of the finished flowers, just so we could compare and contrast. I may actually have them, I’m not sure. Somehow I lost a bunch of my old pics, I dunno if I was drunk and went on an insane deleting frenzy or if I fucked up when I was trying to save pics or what. If I can find them, is it cool if I post them here? Just so we can get more info here for anybody who’s interested.
