Bodhi Goji OG x Sunshine Daydream f2 and selection grow

Just put the seeds into soil today. I plan on making f2s with the best selections and potentially an open pollination for genetic presevation. I plan on giving out some of the seeds for people to grow through.

Excited to get this grow underway. I also plan on using this in some personal breeding projects in the future. I will have pictures once they sprout and the grow area is set up.

Just got them transplanted into 1 gallon pots a couple days ago. Out of the 7 that eventually sprouted, 1 damped off and another was a victim of fungus gnat larvae smh.

The 5 remaining are very healthy. Can’t wait to see what kind of phenotypes I get to work with. The Space Monkey clone in the background could be a cross candidate.

Officially have 4 females and 1 male. I have the 4 females in Earthboxes and the male in a 3 gallon fabric pot. The male is the most vigorous of the bunch with the smelliest stem rub, so makes me hopeful.

I also popped the final 2 seeds in hopes of getting a competing male and more diversity in the f2 generation. Going to take cuts of all of these soon. Looking forward to flipping it to flower to see what these ladies can do.

I’ll be following.

Last 2 seeds sprouted quickly. They are far behind the others, but plenty of time before I throw clones in the 3x3 for pollination.

Females all got their second topping today. Taking cuts of them all tomorrow.

Seedlings are healthy. I will be using these in the open pollination as well. Won’t get to see them flower with the rest, but will be taking cuts of them when it is time.

Topped the male a 2nd time and did a little pruning. Still hoping I get a second male for diversity, but I am very happy with what I am seeing so far. Thick, solid branches. Very vigorous growth. Very strong, attractive stem rub smell. Decent internodal spacing and good secondary branching despite delaying the topping.

Only thing I still want to see is some trichome density in flower and good flower sets. Overall very pleased, should make a great f2 generation. Hopefully the 2 seedlings produce some competition though.

The more I see from this male, the more I like it. Has a very solid, thick frame. Good node spacing with good 2nd tier branching coming in. INTENSE stem rub smell. Very vigorous growth. Seems to be a light feeder as the BAS 3.0 is a touch hot for him. Even seems to have good leaf trichome density even in veg.

If I don’t get another male from the 2 seedlings, I think I got lucky with this one. Hopefully some of these strong traits come through in the progeny. Might pollinate my Space Monkey and Deathstar clones with this guy as well.

Taking some final cuts today and pruning these ladies up in preparation for flowering. Will probably flip 12/12 tomorrow night. The one in the middle is a Space Monkey clone just to fill out the space. Going to be vegging the cuts in a separate tent in preparation for the pollination run.

They are starting to blow up. The 2 in the back are more compact and slower to veg. I am kinda wondering if they might be Bubbashine leaning. Anyone have any experience with that pheno?

This is my male. He hasn’t even flipped to flower yet, he is still chilling in the veg tent. Early leaf trichomes might mean nothing, but it can’t be a bad thing.

This first week of flowering stretch has been more intense than expected. I may even relocate the Space Monkey to accommodate the growth. Probably should have flipped a few days earlier. Time to get creative with the pruning and training.

Update time. Shortly after the last post, I discovered the Goji in the back right corner was a male. I apparently misidentified the early preflowers and didn’t get a close check until a bit more than a week into flower.

I took clones of that males (Goji SSDD #2) and culled the original. I put the Space Monkey clone that was in the center into the corner it previously occupied.

The 2 later sprouted seeds (#6 and #7) both also turned out to be males giving me a total of 4 males and 3 females. I have cuts of all the males flowering separately to get an idea of what they all bring to the table in early flowering with backup cuts of each.

These pictures in this post are bud shots of each of the 3 females a bit over 3 weeks into flower. Getting a lot of interesting terps with varying levels of berry/exotic fruit/citrus with notes of evergreen and gas and some kush. Great variety.
