Bodhi Guide - Seed and Strain Discussion (Part 1)

This is very true!
Little known factoid, i think Shoe used to test grow for Bodhi many years ago. He posted on Breedbay back then under the name Big Shoe.

39 of each in plugs, domes on until sprout and then removed permanently to avoid damping off.

These are going into a room with capacity for 48 finished flowering plants. Pretty sure that after non-germs and culls we will be right at 16 of each or so. No males, but if these are really good we will selectively repro with keeper females and variety of males from extra packs.

Restock of White Light Hahplant and GLG. They wont last long.

Gawd, that’s irritating haha. I mean, it’s great that that White Light Hashplant is back, it sounds pretty promising (all of the the frost of The White with the stoniness of the 88G13HP, hopefully), but I ordered a pack of those from GLG when they first got released (I think that was the last seed order I placed, actually), sent my money and then they emailed me a few days later and told me that they fucked up and those seeds weren’t available anymore and that I had to pick a replacement pack.

Ended up choosing the Pure Land Hashplant, which is fine; that one sounds good, too, although nothing like the White Light. Still… Get yer shit together, GLG haha…

I just finished growing a pack of white light hashplant. Very strong, great structure, and low smell (slightly earthy)

Also a pack of black light fantasy which looked nice (very purple), but leafy and weak. Only got 3 females out of a whole pack. Berry smell with one and the other two were more chem.

I have dream lotus growing outside along with grape stomper. I am pollinating the dream lotus to handout or trade

I always heard The White just smelled sweet and hashy, nothing standout like OG or TK that are allegedly her sisters.

The white hash plant had the least smell of any plant I have grown. Slightly earthy.

I’ve read the same thing, along with it being a sorta boring high, which is why I thought crossing it to the 88G13HP male might really improve it.

I’m not interested in those seeds, but for anybody here who might be, what are you pollinating it with?

I have a decently high tolerance and after 3 bong rips I am extremely high on this strain. This is atypical for me. It also makes me paranoid, but I am a little paranoid on a good day. I gave away most of it.

Also finished a tent of bandaid haze 3.0. It was really good, except I prefer the 4.2 version I grew last winter. I will post some pics over in the doc d forum to avoid cluttering up this thread. Since I already posted here is a pic.

Alright, it sounds like me and you are on the same page haha.

It’s weird (to me) how “Indicas” or things that supposedly smoke “lazy” or “sleepy” or “Indica-ish” or just plants that are obviously BLD’s (duh! They’ve got broad leaves! Haha) usually affect me the same way: too “racy,” too cerebral and usually not a pleasant experience at all on the come-up, whereas all the NLD stuff I grow, longer-flowering, tall, stretchy, whatever, is always just The Shit haha and the total opposite of how most people (the actual breeders included) describe them. I love those taller plants haha.

Anyway… You should post some grow logs here, @Knifeman. I’d be interested in reading them, for sure.

My state just went legal on August 1st so I plan on posting more.

I will do more comprehensive grow logs since I always appreciate you @minitiger and your detailed grow logs.

I also finished from Bodhi:

Sour diesel Chaco cut: insanely good, everyone’s favorite who tried it. The hash plant leaners were meh

Grape pie: one of my all time favorites from Bodhi and so strong! Exceeded all of my expectations. If it is still available at any seedbanks I high recommend buying it. Great taste and smell.

Blueberry hash plant: it was kind of weak and didn’t stand out.

Also one silver sunshine: I didn’t like the high. It was reasonably strong, but made me so confused. I would be standing in place for minutes trying to figure out what I was doing. Probably good for some, but not for me.

Open pollination of the dream lotus 3 males and 7 females. I culled one and one was eaten from the roots up by a vole. I pumped argon into the hole and didn’t have anymore problems.

I pulled the male grape stomper plants so I expect the females to get pollinated a little from the dream lotus. The grape stomper plants are f-4 and look very similar. I have the grape stomper plants in 5 gallon buckets so I moved them. The grape stompers started flowering about 10 days before the dream lotus.

Oh, okay. Sounds good. I’ve got a pack of that Dream Lotus, too, and reeealllyyy wanna plant those seeds, but since I only have one pack and I never take cuts, I’m waiting on it until I actually get around to making clones.

For what it’s worth, I think that Dream Lotus could be an epic hybrid.

me and a friend grew some pleiades vietnamese x kashimi x (dream lotus). Great plants, and you could really see the influence of the blue dream compared to the straight up (vietnamese x kashmiri).

So I’d say the genetics of the dream lotus hold up well in hybrids.

We gave most of the plants to local growers so that they could learn by growing an established “teen” sized plant instead of having to start seeds. So I didn’t end up flowering it and gave mine away, but my friend was really happy with the bud he got from his.

Also, that pleiades vietnamese kashmiri is a great strain. I’m getting the name wrong, because the actual name is too long and spelled really weird, but you all probably know what I’m talking about haha.

I’m pretty high and am gonna ramble about this hunt.

I’ve gotta be up front here and tell you I don’t have high hopes for Butterscotch x SSDD. The males were very hempy looking, thin straw stem growth and not many bud sites. I don’t really want to pass on those traits so I got rid of them all. Basically every single one was like that. Other crosses, no problem.

The Butterscotch x SSDD females are decent looking thanks to SSDD sad vigor but still not smelling like anything on week 4. I’m not writing off the cross yet but I wasn’t keeping 8 of those damn males lol.

So yeah we are down to 7 males now, 4 Bodhi.

Sunshine Daydream:

This one here is sorta appy in the way it’s stacking but otherwise has more Bubbashine going on in apical dominance and leaf shape. Stem rub is definitely Bubbashine as well, the appy stuff tends to be piercing and rank.

Then we have a very stretched out Kush structured male that smells like piercing lemons. Like a rank SSH smell.

And the last one has narrower leaves which to me says appy, but more of a shorter Chem type structure. It’s got a bit of that rank lemon but not as loud as the other male.

I cut the lateral branches off this one because they were stacked top to bottom with bud sites, dropping so much pollen

Blue Sunshine:

This was the most blue dream leaning of the bunch but still seems to keep that squat sorta Bubbashine profile where the lateral branches are almost level with the top.

Smells just like the Santa Cruz blue dream on stem rub. Also a longer runner, hoping it’s a sorta Bubbashine blue dream hyrbid in how it breeds.

Overall SSDD F1 is looking really good, and most of the hybrids with the SSDD male are above average looking right now. They are calcium hogs and love big drydowns, they can take lots of light but do not like being over fed. Excellent resin coverage, lots of plants are smelling early in flower.

SSDD ranges from rancid buttery to fuely to hashy to sweet blueberry. One even smells like blue dream!

The Wifi x SSDD standout pheno is a Bubbashine type with sweet pine berry Kush notes developing

Blue sunshine’s are pretty blue dream dominant which is awesome, varying mixes of Kush fuel and pure haze fresh linen blueberry

Butterscotch x ssdd doed not have a strong nose

Chem d x ssdd doed not have a strong nose

Photo of the room where it sits:

Happy with how this came out. At this point it’s a coast to the finish line situation. Next update will be harvest then smoke report. Onto the next seed pop

Sorry for the picture framing, the space is cramped as heck.

Anyway, here are some DLA9!

There’s 4 dla 9 and one consumption x choc thai off to the side. Of the 4 dla 9, one is a different color and presenting a totally different structure!
