Bodhi on The Potcast

Anybody else feeling like the three part potcast was a bummer / waste of time?

Was there a new Bodhi podcast I missed? I’ve seen him on “The Potcast” and that Adam DUMB guy where he was not allowed to finish a sentence.

Not enough plant info huh?

Last one was the least… plant-informative, but still.
I thought they were good :man_shrugging:

Right on

I have to heavily disagree with your second Statement, as soon as steiner was mentioned I was completely off put.

Using Steiner And scientific in one sentence is as nuts as one can go. In general way to spiritual / esoteric for my ears.

The Interview with Chimera is basically the complete opposite.

But Thats me, and most likely the Heavy dissapointment came from my wrong expectation.

I don’t know what you were expecting from a bodhi interview :man_shrugging:

Problem is Chimera is known for giving out terrible information, and a lot of junk genetics🤷. B may have a point about “science based” breeding not being the best method.

What podcast isn’t a waste of time? When did we all become old people, listening to talk radio (no offense to senior citizens haha; I’m pretty close myself)? Podcasts are just re-branded talk radio. If it’s that important, write it down and I’ll read it. While I listen to music.

Just listen to music.

First off, love ur pic w ur name, reminds of a sapphire!!

Meant to @BackyardBoogie420 sorry for the confusion

Not trying to stir the pot, but im interested in what terrible info ur referencing to Chimera??

C4 was the 1st pack of seeds i ever bought and im sure its prolly nostalgia, but man those were some of the most potent and best yielding flowers ive grown. I know Chimera can come across as arrogant and alot of ppl have a problem w him and his tone and ive felt that way w him also. Just curious if u had a poor interaction w him or something??

Much appreciated!

All good! Like a decade ago now when I was growing at scale I took in some cuts that were supposedly from him, and I assume they were legit, but of course its impossible to say for sure. Either way, they were really unmemorable for me at least. Seems like they were selected for yield and short flower over effect or flavor, which isnt bad per say. But not anything Id wanna mess with.

Cant say Ive ever spoken with him, but from what Ive heard in like half an interview, he seems to be a lot more ego than substance. The beauty of the cannabis community IMO is any breeder can say whatever they want about breeding angle or education. But at the end of the day, smokers will decide if your work is something special. I knew countless commercial guys back in the 215 era that swore by Bodhi gear. But aside from those couple (possibly fake) cuts I took in, I never saw a single person mention Chimera. Just my 2 pennies on it!

Very clear and honest, i appreciate that. Thats unfortunate on those cuts u took in, but like u said, can b a good thing if done properly and it obviosuly wasnt for ur specs or standards.

He def has an ego, i will agree 100%. Ive chatted w him a few times and again that ego thing can slide in and certainly turn ppl off if they havent interacted or heard him b4. As well, with the community, so many ppl r going to have so many different opinions. U havent spoke w him and had a bad experience w his genetics, ive chatted w him and had a great experienxe w his genetics. I love Bodhi, have so many packs of his to run thru, which i think will b the 4 Play next.

To each his own and shouldnt ever b any hard feelings!! Seems ppl eother love or hate him, lol.

Again, appreciate ur honest and mature response!!

Obviously too much!

Every Podcast with useful Information.

So supposedly is the word to look out for here, you have basicslly no clue, if or if not.

Problem is, there are too many people talking bullshit and giving bullshit advice.
From the potcast Interviews I d say Bob Hemphill, Chimera and CSI were the best out of 100s of potcast Interviews.

The blockhead one and the new one with Bodhi place at the bottom regarding scientific or plant informations.

And personally I dont like your point of view, because it also includes idiots and liars and pretty much clears them of wrong doing like sharing broscience or wrong informations in general.

I am all for more science based debates and arguments.

That on the other hand would be a clear red flag.

I’m glad you mention that, i felt absolute the same.
Lots of his thougts and approaches are very cool and i think he is an interesting good person but things tend to slip out a bit.

I find it hard to find a red line in that diversity of crosses and i can’t see what really stands out (and isn’t gone forever)

Rudolph Steiner is just a red line for me also.

Funny that people have a problem with Bodhi being into weird shit but no problem with the idiotic analogies he and other breeders make (comparing plants to people in unfortunate ways, using apples as an analogy about the loss of genetic diversity based on what they see in supermarkets).

Sometimes people with weird ideas make good plants.

Exactly this! But I completely understand most people online have never been around a buncha growers. Ive known too many, and theyre pretty much all characters. Some of the kookiest dudes Ive known have been absolutely amazing growers. Nowadays folks like to sit on some high horse of everything they dont like is “bro science”, but it all comes down to what works for you at the end of the day.

I use cannabis as my primary medicine, and no breeder even comes close to Bodhi for plants that help my neuro issues, spinal cord injury, and paralysis issues. Not to mention the packs are so reasonably priced, which really lets folks on a small budget experience really special stuff. But hey if folks dont like B, that just means more packs for me lol. Peave and Love everyone!

I know I was a little harsh in my assessment, but TBH I really enjoyed these most recent episodes (I’ve now started re-listening for the third or fourth time). Bodhi seems like a really interesting person who would be fun to hang out with. I’d love to check out his record collection.

Cannabis breeders are an interesting bunch. At least Bodhi’s good-interesting, more than I can for some of them (most of the dudes who’ve claimed to be all about “the hard science of breeding” seem to me to be largely full of it).

It might’ve helped that I’ve heard Bodhi’s prior episodes so I knew he’s a social anthropology soft-science people-person kind of guy.

I never thought about not flowering out a seeded plant. That was interesting info. He dropped a lot of info about plants, it just wasn’t exclusively cannabis. He let you into his world a little. He could just throw seed packs out. I love the backstory. He didn’t decide to grow the herb. He got drawn in by it magnetically. Fated from birth, perhaps. When the planetary vegetal spirit speaks, you should listen.
