Bodhi Plant and seed guide (Part 1)

You could always just make your own soil:

“Base soil mix:

1:1:1: CSPM (Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss) : Pumice/Lava rock : Compost - Malibus B/U is an excellent choice if it is available in your area.

Amended per cuF with:

1/2 - 1 cup Neem or Karanja
1/2 - 1 cup Kelp
1/2 - 1 cup Crab/Crustacean meal
1 cup MBP (Malted Barley Powder)

1/2 cup Gypsum (nice sulphur source)
4-6 cups Basalt
6-8 cups Biochar”

That’s what I do. I think you could skip the MBP and the bicohar, too. Super-easy and good mix. Cheap, too.

S1 seeds from the butter pheno sounds really interesting, good luck on this go around and hopefully you’ll get at least one to produce some good pollen. I’ll keep my eyes out for the viney ones and we will see what happens.

My outdoor grows and my preferred growing mix is what @minitiger just posted above, it’s a great organic/no-till mix. For this grow, I threw it together fairly quick and used Roots 707, Malibu Compost, biochar, along with the amendments listed in the soil mix above more or less, they are all in 7 gallon GeoPots.

As far as watering and feeding goes, I use silica in every watering which helps strengthen the plant’s cell walls helping form thicker and stronger stems among many other things. They also get a weekly botanical tea which consists of alfalfa and kelp (after a couple weeks into flower I’ll switch to neem and kelp tea), fish hydrolysate every two weeks, and top dress powdered malted barley maybe once every couple weeks. Every week I foliar spray neem oil with silica throughout veg and into early flower. And that’s more or less it.

Hahahaha!!! Yeah, nothing to it. Except the biochar and the kelp and the silica and the fish hydrolysate and the alfalfa every couple weeks and the malted barley powder top dress and the neem foliars every two weeks and whatever all else…

Just fucking around. I need to up my game, too.

Yeh, I’d looked into making my own , unfortunately in UK there just isn’t a big enough demand for this type of stuff like there is in US, so our costs end up being way higher, or we have to buy in greater volumes that we don’t need.
To get all of the ingredients separately that I needed to make the volume of soil I needed, it would have cost £180 ($250us) for 30gal. And then I’d have been left with bags full of neam, rice hulls, gypsum etc

Well if your selfing doesn’t work out I’m sure you can get some pollen when someone makes F2s. I’ve got a pack and am thinking of trying my hand at F2s but probably won’t get to it until maybe next fall.

Haha, you’re too funny! It is really just a schedule, growing outdoors has trained me to use neem oil/silica foliar sprays regularly to keep up on my IPM, I think the plants really respond to it. Also the feeding regiment is all fairly easy and fuss free for the most part.

An alfalfa/kelp or neem/kelp tea consists of adding the meal to water and letting it sit for 2 days before straining the plant material off before watering.

Using fish hydrolysate is adding 2 TBS per gallon of water

The malted barley does take a bit more due to the fact that you have to blend it before top dressing but in all that is pretty easy too.

Thanks for that. I tried mud indoors, and could never get a grip on it. I have a shelf of all those ingredients, and then some. They all go towards the veggie gardens now! I’m a coconutter… really hard to screw that up, lol! I do use extra silica, too, but it’s never been much help on the viney types… at least for mine.
Might have to give mud another go!

I’ve made F2’s, F3’s too. Didn’t think much about selecting parents at the time, though. They are both very good, but I’m just not sure they are the best representation.
I’m caught in a space/time incontinueum… not enough of either. S1’s would make things a lot easier!

Haha, yeah, I have all of that stuff, but I probably don’t use it as often as I should. I just thought it was funny when you listed, like, a shitload of things and then were like,”Nothin’ to it!”

Oh, yeah, dude, I’ve got a garage full of that stuff. But I always get around to using it, eventually. A little neem meal tea here, a gypsum top dress there, a new batch of soil every now and then… It gets used, just sometimes takes like five years haha…

I really wish Bodhi would do a special release of Tranquil Elephantizer or it’s remix.

I don’t think it’s possible since he lost the Snow Lotus. He could probably do another version though, maybe Snow Lotus F2 or similar. I’m finishing up some F2s of the Remix right now, getting some pretty interesting results. One nose burner, one yielder, and one that is frosty the snowman…

He’s said before that he has crazy stashes of seeds so I’m sure he could hunt a new parent from somewhere. Whether he will or not is the question, seems unlikely as he seems to always be moving forward

The Medicine Mountain Metal Haze is a reproduction of the Dutch Flowers.

I can’t remember the exact details, but I believe the last official LE release was of Snow Lotus v2. I thought about getting in on it but then didn’t. [ETA: But this wasn’t right, see the reply to this comment for what that LE drop actually was]
