So I’m curious what you all think would be a good functional daytime sativa from Bodhi. Been testing out my 3 kodama phenos and I don’t think they fit the bill . Enjoyable but oh man strong. I tried one yesterday and my heart rate was like 120 5min after trying haha. I usually have to take 5 to center myself after trying them out. Also seems to get pretty heavy quickly, didn’t expect to be nodding off watching tv at 8pm!
Some of the sativa leaning strains I’ve got that I think might lean a bit more mellow and not as racey or intense: mango lotus & mango kashmir, eternal sunshine, lemon lotus, soul axis, and smart move. Mountain temple is another, but I’ve seen some reports that it can be pretty speedy. Also have d9thaixdla5, congo kashmir x goldstar, but I think those might lean more on the intense end lol. I’m thinking the mangobiche crosses might be a good path to look into, have seen a lot of nice reports on those strains.
Both SunRa and Goji OG have both been very clear headed, mellow, functional varieties that are quite good for activities in my experience. It’s also possible to relax with them, but they don’t glue you to the couch. Possibly they lean more hybrid than sativa, but that also may be what you’re after?
Good to know! I will have 6 goji females to test in a few months, so that will be fun. Yeah, for me its mainly not having speedy effects or strong come-ups, while still being good for biking, hiking, etc. Creeper effects are more my speed ha. I think some of the more landrace leaning hybrids can be more to this end - rather than the haze sativas which usually are too intense and speedy for me.
I’m really, really sensitive to those racy-kinda strains, don’t appreciate them haha, but I didn’t find Mountain Temple to be like that at all. Three different females and all three were excellent. Mountain Temple’s up there maybe in my top-three, definitely top-five Bodhi crosses ever.
Update : Out of my 7 Zap plants 4 of them appear to be female. They have been flowering for 2 weeks now just starting to look like they are produceing flower. I took 2 clones off each of the girls today off the bottom branches. One of them the tallest one has the most amazing pineapple melon scent. looking forward to see what is in store.
So I’ve been doing more research on the lineage of these phone home plants and was surprised to find a few strains using the phone home as a parent. For example there is high rule genetics with their triforce OG using a male phone home and a female drama both of which are part TK. Mosca seeds has the new order strain using a phone home mother x fire alien white dad. And then there’s other TK crosses like gusherz which is gelato 41 and TK. I think I’m on the right track brothers and sisters. If any of you can report on your experience hunting killer plants in the phone home packs do share.
I am super stoked to have wandered over here for bodhi info and found a group of very active enthusiasts. I wish there was a really good discord channel for all of this, because I think that format is pretty great. Anyways, hey everyone!

I think it’s actually the “sour (hot?) butter” pheno that’s the one people get extra-stoked about. Although I certainly wouldn’t trash a plant that smelled/tasted like blueberry baked goods.
The BubbaShine pheno that I sampled had a strong blueberry muffin smell, completely covered in trichomes, and was a bit leafy. Effects were very relaxing, mellow, sedative & dreamy. Highly enjoyable for night time consumption or when being immobile is an option. Horrible strain for work in my experience. I only saw that pheno once in the pack, and Bodhi lists it at 10% frequency of expression. Not sure if the butter cut is the BubbaShine pheno or a 70% hybrid pheno, but apparently the butter cut has a berry aroma in addition to butter.
Edit: This is around 70 days and 25%+ amber.

When I grew that SSDD, one of the plants definitely had a super-loud, impossible-to-ignore “hot butter” thing going on. And very early, too. I could smell it over everything else, right when I’d open the tent, as early as like day 30 in veg. Sadly, that plant turned out male, so… Tossed.
Edit: that’s interesting about the Bubbashine growing like “a big OG” that’s mentioned in the first quote. The one SSDD female I ended up with grew exactly like that. I didn’t notice any blueberry overtones, though; she ended up smelling like straight-RKS.
