yeah I actually have a little update on that, it turns out one of them hasn’t been open nearly as long as I thought when I was fact checking my last post about the portland locations. I had thought one opened recently, and the other was still closed. Then I did some checking online, and saw weedmaps showed one opened in 2020, and the other in 2021. I added an edit to reflect that.
After talking with some local people, it seems the one on division had its opening recently.
They opened weedmaps listings before the stores were actually opened. So it gave the appearance that the stores had been open longer. I think anyone can basically set up a business profile on weedmaps much like a social media site. but no surprise…
The other one out on Halsey, no one seems to know if it’s open or not. It’s online presence says it’s open. But in person, it looks closed up and the windows are dark.
So either their social media is completely inaccurate, or their in person retail presence at that location is seriously underwhelming.
Cookies opened their first store in Missouri back in July. Opening day festivities included a chance to win one year of free “Cookies” as well as a meetup with Berner.
I haven’t heard any reviews from people I trust as to the quality of their products…
That must be why his new weed social app is going to require a weedmaps account. Totally can’t remember where I read/heard that but it was definitely something related to berner.
Logging into an app with an account from another website is only asking to have your consumer/user data sold off as many times as possible—like using a Facebook or Google account to log into some other app/website.

Haha! Nahhhh… The more I thought about it, the more I realized I didn’t wanna be anywhere where anybody with an IG account would know that, if all went according to plan and all one thousand albums were sold, there’d be $500,000 in cash on the premises. That sounds like a situation ripe for robbery. Maybe that’s just my own devious mind working haha, but if I was down for armed robbery, I definitely woulda considered that thing last night.
It’s pretty common in LA (every other city, too, I’m sure) for criminals to monitor social media accounts and when somebody with lots of “bling” posts that they’re somewhere, motherfuckers’ll show up there and rob them. Some rapper who I’d never heard of was just robbed and murdered right inside the Roscoe’s on Pico like six weeks ago, twenty minutes after his girl posted on IG that they were there. Like, literally inside the restaurant. Stuff like that happens relatively frequently here. (Lesson: don’t post your bling on social media haha)
Even if something like that didn’t happen last night, I knew there’d be lots of guns there and stuff, puffed-out chests and shit, not really my scene at all.
I’m not one to live in fear, I see shit on the news and just think,”Oh. That kinda sucks…” haha, but it was like,”Do I really wanna drive an hour to a place I’d never ordinarily go, to observe a seed release of genetics I’m not even interested in and be surrounded by people who I actively dislike? In a situation that’s a relatively easy target to steal half-a-million dollars? All the while listening to Berner’s shitty-ass album being cranked? And then have to drive another hour home???” haha!
Getting there. One pheno is a bit ahead of the other. On one I can barley see any white pistils, but the other still has a healthy amount showing. Gonna hold off as long as possible, got another plant coming down before these. Never pulled a plant in November, but the weather is gonna allow it this year.
True complexity and ‘keep coming back for more’ aspect of the smells. Enticing. Pretty plum and fall colors on the leaves now too. Believe it or not, we still haven’t had our first frost. 2+weeks behind average…
I look forward to this smoke, but not necessarily the trim. Seems kinda leafy. Earlier pheno in sunshine, later one in shadow. Sooo floppy, as I say in most posts about this.
Maybe the longer flowering period this year will allow them to swell and kind of “envelope” all those leaves, making for an easier trim. One can hope… haha.
They look really good to me, though, leafiness or no leafiness, especially considering the genetics. Looking forward to the smoke report in, like, what? Three months? Two-and-a-half?
