I’m sorry to hear that some of the volunteers got some shitty germination rates. I had to go and jinx it with an earlier post commenting on how good the germ rates were for everyone lol. Such is life I suppose.

For those that didn’t get good results do not take anything personally that you may have done wrong. These seeds have been stored for awhile now and who knows how or how long they were stored prior to getting to me. I knew this was going to be the first big hurdle to overcome. Its also why I think this is the perfect time to do this project because the viability of any stored seeds get worse over time so time to get these genetics alive and poppin while we still can. The good news is I believe worst case is everyone has at least 3-4 plants to work with and hopefully everyone will get at least a male and a female to work with. Thanks again for everyone who is supporting this project!

P.S. Anyone else excited about the potential pheno’s that are going to be found in the F1 females? This should be fun too watch!

Hell yeah! Let’s hope someone out there finds a keeper girl! There’s a couple well known clones of Goji OG floating around out there, so we know line can definitely produce some stunners. It would be awesome to get all the Goji cuts in one room and see how they compare.

Couldn’t agree more and the reason I was so stoked to get involved. Can’t wait to see this all play out!

Yessir, several examples out in the wild of very good pheno’s of Goji OG. I’m hoping several members of team Goji find some keepers.

YES!!! How awesome would it be to be able to grow out these individually selected keepers side by side to try and find something ELITE. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself here and look past the seed making portion of the project because there still is alot of work to do to make that happen successfully, but having said that I am certainly thinking about ways we can do selection collectively and maybe end up with a “forum cut” of Goji OG that gets shared out freely to EVERYONE. I think that would be so baller.

Yes! Ive been catching up on some old goji grows to get hyped. Theres one on breedbay - bodhi showing pics of his friends 99 seed pheno hunt and lots of others posting their keepers. Lots of unique and cool plants in there! Im hoping to find one with the “classic” profile - dark berries, pinesol etc. Seems to vary between that and snow lotus dom strawberry phenos.

Heres an update on my end, all 11 are alive. One runt is a week or so behind, a victim of helmet-head :rescue_worker_helmet:. Had an issue with my new seedling soil - G7-11 all use it and all were showing signs of deficiencies - chlorosis and such so 4 were transplanted into 1 gals a bit earlier than I would have liked. The runt is the last one in the bad mix, but its too small to transplant. Not sure what went wrong with this mix, maybe just too many gnats in it, or the oyster shell didnt raise the ph yet. The batch of EWC didnt seem as high quality this time… more fluffy than normal. Either way Im optimistic the 4 will be fine once they get used to the new pots. Seeing a nice variety of leaf shapes and noticing light smells… one that has my eye has the skinniest leaves (5 o clock in the first pic).

I’ve got some research lined up as well. Would you mind sending me some links to some grows you’ve found? Just in a DM is fine.

Plants are looking really good!

All 11 of mine are doing good also. Will update with pic tmrw. Trying to keep it a weekly thing.

Man I’m so glad I’m not the only one battling through a hellscape of gnats right now, not sure what brought em in but I’m in the thick of it on week 2 of a gnatrol regimen and day 3 of a dr. Zymes hose down

Sure thing. Here’s the thread I was talking about. Would be cool to put together a little resource for Goji OG since there are so many Goji grow reports out there. Growth notes, pheno traits to look for etc. Searching through Bodhi’s comments on breedbay with goji seems to bring some excellent notes.

Yeah gnats are a pain. I think my bail of peat had them as pretty much every soil mix I’ve made from it has gnats. I think this seedling mix didn’t get enough of a gnatrol drench prior to using… but it might just have not been mixed up or leveled out enough yet. Might be ditching it and just use some of my normal mix for seedlings going forward… it definitely gave G7-11 trouble.

Looks like 15 days ago they broke soil. 18 days ago they were germinating!
Yeah they’re getting to the fun and less stressful part soon… seedlings are so fragile lol.
