Oh, that’s cool you guys got to hang. I think he’s one of the best reviewers around. It’s always nice to find writers who can form coherent sentences and know the difference between “there” and “their” and shit haha. His enthusiasm for growing definitely shows in his reviews.

And I definitely don’t take one review as the be-all, end-all. Even when I read his review of Pura Vida, I was like,”Hmmmm… I dunno about that.” All you have to do is simply look at the genetics. LA Pure x Appalachia is prooooobablllyyyy gonna turn out real good. And if it doesn’t, if the growers writes a review that isn’t the greatest, I’m chalking that up to the grower’s specific tastes more than the plant itself. Didn’t realize that higherthought grew that from a clone, though. I might’ve missed the part where he mentioned that. Or just forgotten. I thought he grew it from seed.

Either way, I have no doubt that that Pura Vida is gonna be good shit.

I don’t really put a lot of emphasis on reviews from other people. Everyone has a different system and get affected different ways from the same exact plant. There’s so many different factors that can effect potency you really have to get several females from the same line to really get a idea of what to expect from a single line plus there can be so many different expression within the same line especially with all the polyhybrid craziness that’s going on right now. I’m more interested in making my own breeding tools right now so I can make a true F1 hybrid for myself.

You bring up a really valid point. If people are reviewing from the perspective of a commercial grow, that’s vastly different from a home grower who just wants good smoke. A good example of this came up on RIU as a recently vocal bodhi fan has been reviewing strains for the last several months, often saying he found no keepers out of packs that had been positively reviewed by many others.

Obviously we’re all going to have different opinions, and those different perspectives are valuable. It turns out his perspective was always “what’s the most commercially viable?” He recently said that he prizes bag appeal and terps above all else because he simply can’t sell weed that doesn’t look good, no matter how it smokes. I totally get that perspective, but it would have been nice to know that all along instead of thinking “well, we can cross that pack off the list for next year.” I’d prefer that people state their perspective on judging weed up front in their reviews. Now that he said he’s only looking at bag appeal when picking keepers, I know to discount his input on strains because I’m looking for the quality of smoke first.

Yep it’s getting squared away like @zephyr said. Thanks for the offer but I don’t want money associated with any weed I grow or seeds I share. I’d always rather give it away for free. Share and share alike! Also, thanks to zephyr for helping to get this all squared away! :handshake:

Nice pup! We have a golden pup also. She just hit one year. Most intuitive and sweetest dog I’ve ever had.
[/quote] Awesome! Got any pics? That’s the kind of personality we’re looking for, no doubt!

He does post nice reviews, but I wish he’d post more pics. As I mentioned above, I take every strain review with a grain of salt because one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Like you point out @Sincy you can’t accurately review a strain off of one pheno.

Also, I know my perspective going into a review, only using a very small amount per day, is going to be vastly different from somebody who is high 24/7 smoking a zip of flower and going through 7g of concentrates a week. Most of those folks, in my experience, prefer terps and bag appeal because, as bodhi says in one of The Pot Cast interviews, they bludgeon their endocannabinoid systems and can’t necessarily differentiate the nuances of effects because they simply smoke too much for any one variety to have a huge impact. Aka tolerance. But tolerance doesn’t effect the taste or smell, so that’s what they end up selecting for. That’s just my opinion.

A quick pupdate. These pics are from yesterday when she hit 8wks old. Josey’s the red in the middle looking at the camera in the first couple:

Here’s a few pics of her playground at the breeder’s farm. The litter was 13 pups with an additional 2 stillborn. You can tell which one’s mom Bailey. The bigger of the two adult reds is dad Brady, and the smaller is Josey’s older sister Molly from the only other litter they’ve had a year ago.

The male pups playing with dad. They were all lighter “Apricot”:

Some of the males by themselves:

“I didn’t do it.”

I’m gonna take a big risk here and show these pics to Mrs Mambo. We may end up with another dog or three. Unbelievably cute!

Hey @nube did the Good Medicines pop?

Yeah man, thanks for asking. They all popped, and I have 10/11 doing good now. Here they are a couple days ago:

One got helmet head and didn’t open after I performed surgery. Two had what I thought might be stem rot after they laid down, but then their stems re-rooted on the top of the soil and they’re just a couple days of growth behind. I’m sure they’ll catch up by the time they get to flower.

The solo cups are full of old used soil that I didn’t re-amend. Plan is to transplant them to 1/2gal square containers full of re-amended soil this weekend and then hit the gas on veg. :racing_car:

Not a whole lot going on here besides the pupperoni taking all my time. She’s so good though!

She’s in our office all day with us as we’re looking for jobs (me) and working from home (gf). Besides going outside for about 6 hours a day, of course.

She already knows sit and fetch and kennel and is somehow housetrained already? Sleeping through the night, hasn’t had any accidents (knock on wood), but we do get up every 3 hours to take her out of the crate for a bathroom break outside. That’s the pupdates so far.

Aside from that, I’m building a new flower light (thread forthcoming) and helping a couple people with their builds. Still shucking seeds and waiting for the list of how many packs need to be sent for distribution to all you fine folks.

Also, the Good Medicine got transplanted into 1/2 gallon pots last weekend. They had solid roots for 25 days from sprout:

And here they are today, 29 days from sprout:

(Thread forthcoming.)

Every once in awhile you get thay dog that just knows what it’s supposed to do/ not do most of the time. Enjoy it when you do, they’re gold. Mines a frigging knucklehead. :joy:

No doubt, man. Lots of exercise and socialization usually makes them pretty pliable, but sometimes there’s nothing you can do.

I’ve definitely had some stubborn dogs over the years. Had an Airedale that loved my ex’s panties. One morning I woke up, let him out in the backyard and wondered why he didn’t come back a few minutes later. I found him hunched over in the bushes like he was dropping a deuce. He kept grunting and whining for a couple minutes, looking at me the whole time. I went around back of him and saw the problem - one of her thongs was hanging out his butt, stuck about half in, half out. I had to give the poor guy a hand, but I made sure to bring em inside to show her.

It probably goes without saying, but she didn’t leave her undies on the floor ever again. :poop:

Plants looking great and pup looks happy and healthy.
Have to credit the breeders for doing a good job with her and her parents it seems. But I’m sure that by you being who you are , you did your homework on them before you made such a wise decision.

Ohhh man I may have to stop looking or end up with a new puppy addition myself! What a great sounding pup!

Beautiful plants, and good luck with the job search!

Busy trying to prepare for winter here as it seems like it may come with a drop of a dime.
