Bodhi announces he’s doing a collab with cookies through the front man Berner. What are yall thoughts on this?

Many breeders see the pathway to success through a large established business like Cookies. I hope it does well for his publicity and brings some old flavor to the new.

Haha yes… when I first heard about this it was posted by Berner and hadn’t taken the time to even write ‘Bodhi’ correctly. This was a few months ago.
Now Bodhi has posted himself - turned off the comments.
It doesn’t line up with his ‘brand’ at all. And I’ve already seen much debate about it start heating up.
Cookies brand is the polar opposite to the unmateriaistic mantra that is Buddhism.
This is business - I can see why Berner would want to be associated with Bodhi. I do not see why Bodhi would want to be associated with cookies. Because it breaks his image and the respect he’s earned out of it.
You can see clearly that in the end… it’s all about the $. And I’d be lying to say I wasn’t irked about it.

Bodhi is gonna contribute some unique genetics to the Cookies brand and reach their smokers with some new strains and effects, seems like a win for the cannabis community. All those people smoking gsc and gelato and feeling numbed out and bored, might suddenly get to experience some of bodhi’s amazing strains and the unique effects they have!
Bodhi seeds is still going to be just bodhi, as is, nothing changed on that end.
We can all choose to see the positives in things and do whatever we can to make the world a better place, it starts with your mindset and your actions, what you do and where, everything we do impacts other people. Bodhi wants to positively impact this massive force, and I see it’s going to happen.

It certainly will be a payday for Bodhi. I agree that it seems inconsistent with the Bodhi brand. It’s probably unrealistic to think he will have too much influence on the brand other than a few lines. They have a very successful business model as it is. I viewed it simar to the collabs with compound or seed junky.

I’m disappointed, not making a big stink but I forsure won’t ever support anyone working with berner. He’s got the right to go and get his money how he wants but the horse shit about spreading his genetics to more places lol come on it’s for cash shut the fuck up. Berner is pretty much cancer and that’s not a hidden hint in a riddle.

I am sure there will be lots of negativity, and that is why comments were disabled on the IG post, people are sick of paying 70 an eight for cookies only to get white-labelled buds that have no quality control and are midsy at best. It sucks that such a knucklehead as Berner is driving, but it is what it is: Bodhi can only make cookies better… Which isn’t saying much because when you’re at the bottom of the barrel with your back against the wall, like Cookies, up is the only direction left. Yes, I have grown tons of cookies and their crosses, and feel they mostly suck. Great yields, very pretty plants, but mostly boring headspaces and some latent anger inducing genes made it a no-go for me. The original cookies, sunset sherbert, and GMO are the only Cookies strains that I would grow again or smoke. Not the plants from these seeds, only the original cuttings… from my experience, cookies seed crosses produce mostly cardboard terps.

Reflecting on the comments here, I can see where this is coming from.
The only straight GSC run I’ve had was very pretty and looked great. The taste and headspace were however a bit meh….
I have enjoyed Barney’s Farm Blue-Gelato and Dos Si Dos though.
Guessing I’m on the fence and will continue to dabble.

I gave it a chance. It’s a girly type strain with no buzz and I think that is good that Bhodi will get into the people’s awareness from the crosses. I wish the guy the best of luck and also hope all that enjoy this cultivar find what they want. I just personally do not enjoy the buzz or the plant at all.

This situation makes me feel the same way as old artists selling their entire catalogue of music to an advertising/corporate entity. You can understand the draw of the money but the effect on the legacy when you are watching endless commercials featuring your favourite band selling you Viagra can only be negative. Peoples view of Bodhi will drop but he will make bank and get to play with genetics on a way larger scale; doesn’t change who he is as a person…or does it?
