You are definitely getting the most outta your 5X5, 25 square feet of buds looks delicious to my eye’s. 16 years later and your first grow is going very well, does it feel good to be back on OG? I have always found the function of growing cannabis is leave it alone and it’s mostly boring. This grow I switched to Foxfarm two soil combo, the BOG SBT’s reacted well from day one, I ran into trouble 10 days in from watering to little, the seedlings sucked up the soils available Nutes in the area with roots and they got a little starved. That’s been corrected, I do however wonder if happy frog is made to need nutrient additives.
My BOG question is: Back in 2003 there was a huge light fight! OG’s we’re going at it tooth and gardeners hand over what fluorescents could and could not grow. Days of arguing, hundreds of pictures posted and you know BOG was a nice guy so he tried to explain a tremendous amount of growth could be had by upping the nitrogen to get darker leaves. Nah sayers be damned, the bushy old grower thread went nuclear for 2 days, posts for and against were posted by the minute… as it cooled off, BOG was silent. Then he posted, a picture of a open closet door with a single 48 inch fluorescent hortilux about 8 inch over two of the most Jurassic boggle gum plants anyone had ever seen. 12 inch fan water leaves with meaty leaves and hairy edges with semi tight node spacing, a hush fell over all of OG as the server crashed from 100’s of simultaneous responses, happened all at once. Do you remember that event?
Thanks for the kind words and thought out response as always! It feels good to be back at OG and the community which slipped my mind over the years. I need a hobby in my life and I couldn’t imagine a better one at this stage. I also agree that growing is a cycle of being really exciting and fairly boring which makes the board a good place to get distracted as needed.
I started growing and visiting 04-05 so I missed that debate. I do remember how active the old site was and how it could explode overnight. Funny enough, I grew out bogglegum in 2 different closets with a 430w hps and ~150w CFL bulbs and got a great result overall. I actually had to bag up my three boggles and relocate my entire grow mid flower but that’s another story lol.
Here’s the story of how I had to relocate my grow in '05.
When I originally grew I was doing a closet setup in a college one bedroom apartment. The second semester, my landlord told me they need to show my apartment before the end of the semester/grow was going to be finished. I was so personally invested in that grow there was no way I was chopping it so a move had to be figured out.
Around 4am one night me my girlfriend at the time, now wife, garbage bagged up 3 bogglegums and a MDanzig lowryder, all midway way through flower. We ran them down 3 flights of stairs and packed them in the back of her Ford explorer truck with tinted windows, thankfully.
We hit the highway/back roads slow and steady, get to her college house 5 miles away, and unpack everything and set it up in an even tighter closet spot at her place. Thankfully the trip was uneventful but the whole experience was crazy at the time and I had that young dumb ‘I can get away with anything’ mentality.
Funny addendum to that story, no less than a week after I moved the grow everyone in my building gets a letter on their apartment door about smelling weed. The landlord wrote if they think it’s coming from your apartment they’ll tell the cops to bust in and charge you for the door lol. I honestly think it was a group a guys who moved in below me smoking since I’d been there for two years doing my thing with no issue but still, I was relieved lol.
TL/DR: I was young and dumb and got away with relocating my grow mid flower in the middle of the night.
I’m going to try to be at most NYC area events that pop up so I’m sure we can run into each other . I’m cloning everything I’ve run so far and planning on mothering what’s worthwhile.
Im in midwest… But im sure we can figure something out. Im flowering out all kinds of random old stuff. And have a few vaults of beans.

Second… fantastic story! The young I can get away with anything part, made me physically laugh out loud. Mrs Helios loved the part, girlfriend now wife it’s difficult at best to find another person to trust and love with all your heart.

I’m excited to see how the Strawberry Gary runs. I have two seedlings going now that are looking good so far.
I decided to soak 6 Thug Pug Peanut Butter Crunch (Peanut butter breath x Mr.Stinky) and 5 Fresh Coast White Truffle Cheese (gorilla butter/white truffle cut x secret cheese) for my 3rd round of flower in early 2022. My buddy is running the other half of the thug pug pack and we hoping to find something good.
