I always have to deal with them indoors, they always manage to come out of no where for me.

Peroxide may work in a pinch, bt is good for it, de on top of soil and bottom watering. My guess is soil had them before planting them since it didn’t even pop up yet.those yellow sticky traps help a lot, any sticky traps help.

If the soil was new and stored outside before buying it chances are it was contaminated. Beat to only buy from places that keep their soil indoors.

You can buy some dunks from a place like homedepot/lowes, a nursery or a pound place and make tea with it and water it.

That’s it. I put a 1/4 chunk of dunk in my watering cans. Completely eliminates fungus gnats (and seed-eating larvae) in about 2 weeks, naturally.

Forgive my ignorance, what’s a dunk? I’m working through some bug issues and am looking for all the info I can find.

They’re mosquito dunks, kind of look like mini donuts. For me personally the BTI in liquid form is easier to use. It’s called Microbe Lift and @CapnCannabis posted a pic of it a few posts up. Just a few drops per gallon of water keeps them away for me. @Gonzo was the one to recommend it to me and it has really made a big difference.

Awesome, I’ll be going to find some of this stuff as soon as I’m off work.
Thanks!!

If you have flyers buzzing around then getting some yellow sticky traps for fungus gnats is a good idea too. They will catch the flying adults and the microbe lift will kill off the larvae. The traps help to break up the gnats life cycle.

:seedling: GOOD VIBES GOOD LUCK!

Mosquito dunks brand also have a granular type, to meter out to the top dressing more evenly, and can be put in water res too.

I have blue and yellow traps out right now. I have 2 different sized flying insects. One is certainly gnats, the other is almost microscopic to me. Could have the gnats mis-ID’d though and the micro fliers could be gnats. I’ve taken everything down with the exception of one small tent that has also been hammered by them as well.

Blue traps are for thrips usually as that color is supposed to appeal to them more than yellow. They still catch fungus gnats as I’ve used them in the past myself. Best of luck knocking them out.
