Fala galera, tudo certo? Vi que derrubaram o tópico do colective grower br que a galera (inclusive eu) tava usando como um canal geral, e pelo que eu entendi esse não era o propósito dele. Pra gente não ficar órfão de um espaço pra conversas rápidas, dúvidas pontuais e as vezes só jogar uma conversa fora, pensei em criar esse canal aqui e deixar de “tema livre” pra nós. Se por acaso tiver infringindo alguma regra do fórum ou se a galera achar contra produtivo a gente tira ele de boa, sem crise.
Se alguém quiser uma comunicação mais profunda e com menos “poluição”, ou até se for pra trazer um assunto importante que pode render, eu aconselho a criar um novo tópico, já que fica mais organizado e de fácil acesso.

Cara, pelo que eu entendi na mensagem que ficou lá quando foi tirado do ar, o propósito do tópico tinha se perdido, acho que o @FPunk vai saber te dizer melhor qual era, mas se eu me lembro bem era o canal do coletivo que tinha como objetivo preservar genéticas br. Acho justo, uma boa causa, mas acho que a galera também precisa de um espaço dessa conversa geral, que infelizmente acabou poluindo o espaço do coletivo

I can’t see the topic, I must have been restricted for some reason I don’t know, I was there because I thought it was a general discussion topic, I didn’t know about the existence of a collective, and I never saw a garden post from this collective on the topic.

I don’t know, I also found it strange, for me the idea was to be a general topic and always emphasizing this activism and the fight against white label and bulk seeds and deceptive marketing, I don’t really know how the topic could be “harmful” but I hope to understand from now on or even avoid posting more…

OK, I’ll try to explain in more detail.
I’m surprised, just like you are. I thought it was just a general topic.
But several incidents have happened since it started. Every time, the scenario was the same. Some beef happened in the forums, and Fpunk reached out to demand moderator action. The first time, a member wanted to discuss some strains. Fpunk explained that there’s a strict statement in the first post that limits discussion to only Brazilian landraces. We said, OK.
The second incident was some personal beef between members. Again, @Fpunk demanded we suspend some accounts (even though they hadn’t done anything against our rules, the alleged violations happened on another site). We said, we are not happy, but OK.
Now, the third incident, just recently, he demanded we delete some specific posts in the Brazilian section because he wasn’t happy with a member discussing those things on our site (and argued it violated the rules of their closed group).
It looks to me like it’s not a coincidence, so it needed action and assurance that it won’t happen again. The result is what you see here.
So regardless of what you think, because you only know half of the story: The topic wasn’t a “general purpose” topic but a topic run by a closed group that reached out whenever something was on their mind. That’s a fact.
Our site is inclusive and we moderate based on our rules and Terms of Service, not by requests from some closed group. That’s not how we work. It only made our job more difficult.
So, there’s a new general-purpose topic now.

Pointing out small details doesn’t change the fact that we don’t want to get tangled up in the politics of some private group that keeps pulling us into their drama, eating up our time and pushing us to take actions.
When you join our site, you start off as a blank slate. Everyone gets their chance to become part of the community. And based on what you do here on OG, we decide if you’ve broken any OG rules (see Terms of Service - Overgrow.com), not some “liquid” set of rules from an external private group.
We welcome growers from all walks: other platforms, communities, or even private groups. But please keep the group politics and personal drama where they belong and don’t bring them here.

Not mentioning this to point out a small detail but to bring up the fact that what he said to you was not true. If they lied about this, who knows what else they could be lying about… You mentioned suspending members, was that going by their word over another’s that was suspended? I don’t know what happened and it’s not my business, but if the dude is lying and/or inappropriately selling things or gathering personal information in his private group for nefarious reasons, it should be known by the community to not engage with such members but to look elsewhere for info/gear from trustworthy sources, for example in the open threads open for all to join, like these. My intention is/has always been to help the international OG community grow.

Please don’t quote me on that. I mentioned Brazilian landraces, but it could just be landraces - that’s not the point. The point is to show it wasn’t a general purpose topic.
I wouldn’t go that far as to accuse anyone of lying or having nefarious motives. I’m really far from that. It could very well be good intentions, just approached in a way that didn’t quite work.

Berçário recém montado, pra aquecer nesse inverno tô usando uma halógena de 100w, uma tomada inteligente e um sensor de temperatura/umidade tuya, quando a temperatura baixa de 22º a halógena liga e quando passa de 26º ela desliga, fora isso tem uma lâmpada led de 50w de supermercado que fica sempre acesa, com isso consigo uma temperatura estável. Aqui na minha região já é naturalmente úmido, o umidificador configurado pra 70% de umidade praticamente não liga. Tô bem contente com a configuração, vamos ver se rende mais do que deixar de cantinho na barraca da Vega hehehe

Honestly I’m sure most of us, even the ones who posted sparingly on the collectives topic are surprised with all of that. To be honest I always understood where Fpunk came from, he wanted to abolish the “bullshit”, the marketing, the selling of bulk seeds, he wanted people to look away from the the fancy packaging, to see the plant as something much more varied and important than market value and what the capital did to it. I think somewhere at somepoint he just took the helm of the topic and wanted some very specific point of view there, while lots of members talked about bulk seeds because a lot of them can’t really afford anything else.
In the end I think we, the brazilian community suffer a little bit because a lot of us came to OG and wanted to start looking at actual good genetics because of his presence online (podcasts/videos). I don’t wanna be defending or attacking anyone, but I think in this case it was more of someone wanting to keep the topic in one way, and that clashed with the will of a part of the community.

Awesome class!! I learned a lot from this video, sharing it here, because it’s essential for understanding ecology and its real meaning and applicability, understanding management, training our perspective, and knowing how to have a broad perspective to perceive all the nuances as a chain, in addition to developing a logic of life.
Furthermore, as the colleague said above, I really had the same feeling that, like it or not, it sounds like something coerced. I hope this isn’t the determining factor for us Brazilians to become shy. I hope all this gets resolved and that everyone starts posting again, trying to revive the community we’ve built over time.

Po, esse é um umidificador na real, sinceramente não recomendo tanto assim não, eu tinha dois e um já deu problema com menos de 3 meses de uso, e quem mora em lugar seco reclama que pelo tamanho ele não dura muito, aqui já é bem úmido então nem ligo tanto. Esse aí é o berçário, se não me engano tem 60x40

Here you can find all that is mentioned, by growers from around the world! Sometimes there’s co-ops and sending ~$2 for a pack/shipping is not a bad deal at all. Most growers and seed makers will happily send seeds your way, especially if you’re active in the community.
