Boxes of Chocolates

Alright thanks @Worcestershire_Farms, my obsessiveness makes me want to know! I’ll be putting my plants in the thread when I do get to them. Thanks again.

25 days to my box of chocolate cames.

Mine were delivered 9/11 which I calculate about 43 hours in the hands of the postman, that’s approx. 68.4MPH; USPS is hustling. I will be watching “The Italian Job” soon. Thank you Worcestershire_Farms! I can’t wait to see what I get grown out. Looking forward to all the possibilities. They will most likely be grown outdoors.

Late for this so it’s a moot point anyway, but I would’ve had to pass even if not; far too OCD to handle running a pack of randomly mixed seeds that I know contains at least one IBL. :stuck_out_tongue: I’d be spending every day examining the plants with an electron microscope to figure out which ones were the Herijuana…

No sarcasm; I love when people post that they don’t want a pack. I find it endlessly amusing.

I chose the mix-pack route because my goal isn’t to see if the individual crosses are worth continuing, but rather to see what traits dominate. In a perfect world, everyone would run the whole pack at once.

And to be real, how many lines are really true-breeding these days? Buy a single ten pack and get seven completely different sisters lmfao

How are you gonna run these. By that I mean the light schedule?

As far as not wanting it, that’s more about my own personal quirks than any comment on the genetics. I’d want to breed with the Herijuana but would drive myself crazy trying to identify them.

Depends what you mean by true-breeding, I suppose… I’m not sure how many were ever true-breeding, if that means homozygous for all selected traits. Certainly I’m not expecting to find many like that now, but typically I’m willing to consider something at least relatively stable if it’s down to 2-3 basic phenos. It’s not like we have Brother Mendel working for any of these breeders, and pea plants are a bit less complex to boot. But yeah, I’d have to agree, if there are 7 phenos at all it’s probably closer to a landrace than a IBL hybrid.

Wrong thread sorry

Certainly no arguing that. Most times a pack of the same strain is a variety pack of different phenos. I think that most times, with a few exceptions, the only way to really get uniformity is to find the pheno you want and get to cloning.

Yeah, I take no offense at all. Every no is one step closer to a yes.

I sold cars way back in the day and I would get the same thing…”you didn’t tell me that it didn’t have x, y, or z”…WELL, its easier to tell you what it DOES have. Like, it doesn’t have jet thrusters or an ejector seat either…Ok, not exactly the same but analogous.

So… how long have you worked in sales? lol. rarely hear that from anybody but someone whos worked in sales… its a great motto btw…cc

WHAT? Dude thats it I am NOT buying a car from you if it doesn’t have an ejector seat option… I can get by with no jet thrusters, but the ejector seat is mandatory…

I guess technically, my whole life. I didn’t learn it on the job, tho, it was just a random conversation. I grew up around a lot of pathological liars, and it made me really good at judging a persons proficiency in a subject. And when I know someone is an expert, I make a point to listen closely when they talk.

Anyway. At 10 I taught myself html, my mom paid for a domain name, and I built gardeninghelp dot org. I had a friend who I could give a list of plant names, and he’d gather the basic care instructions. I’d fix any obvious errors, find any extra information he couldn’t, and format it, put it up on the site.

There was a shopping cart set up, site was ready to start accepting customers — the problem started when contacting all of the big seed distribution companies. Every single time they would tell me they’ll send a seed vendors catalog, and literally not one of them ever did. My business failed, not because I was too young, or incompetent, but because I wasn’t able to convince the person on the other end of the phone that I was worth their time. Some random fucks, who probably couldn’t see their dicks in a mirror, decided I wasn’t going to be successful.

Instead of being persistent, or working on my oration, or finding someone else to make the calls to these companies, I gave up.
If I had only known the saying back then, every no is one step closer to a yes, someone would have eventually sent that catalog.

Fuck them people I spoke to, tho. I hope they stub their toe, every morning. :expressionless:  :sob:

Another tip I picked up —
When someone makes an offer, pretend to think about it, and literally just sit there silent…
And in a matter of seconds they will go stir-crazy, causing most people to bid against themself.
Wicked stupid, but holy fricken effective. Lol

@Worcestershire_Farms I know you had no idea, but I needed to read that this morning. Thank you

That is very impressive for a 10 year old, I was working as free labor for my father.
I hope they stub their toes aswell. Lol not kidding

Man I couldn’t tell you what I was doing at 10 but it certainly wasn’t anything close to this, probably skateboarding and crashing bmx bikes. Sometimes I wish I could go back and apply myself more to the things I’ve come to love later in life, see where it could have taken me if I had gained focus earlier on. Oh well though, no complaints, life is good! :v:t2:

I also found saying “What!?” suddenly and violently (like in German) in the middle of their thought also does wonders to shake’em up for the better deal.
