Brees grow 1x Afghan choco reg, 1x Cinderevil auto

Exactly.

If I were in your position I’d be thinking “oh shit I hope they dry in time let’s put a fan on them to encourage that but if not the bathroom stays at around 55% so I’ll just leave them there in the shower.”

Or something like that.

Yeah last night I put on drying trays in tent, dark, bad ass oscillating fan… still not good enough for them. Divas.

usually after the smell of hay is gone, I bag it up.

Ahh yes. Definitely hay! I’m learning. I will make sure I have more time for drying next time. A week wasn’t enough. I keep the place too cold I think. Never any concerns of mold, but definitely super slow drying.

Hay definitely needs to dry more… hate that smell…

I think the buds have to be mostly dry for bovedas, they are more to stabilize the jar than to dry the buds… especially if the bud hasn’t finished drying yet

72F / 55 RH and mine can be jarred in a week and maintain 58-60 RH in the jars… still a little hay smell but that goes away over the next few days / weeks…

I let them dry few more hours, put back in jars with out boveda and all 3 are 58%

Well, 1 is 59 but I am ok with that.

My jars range from 55 to 60… there’s variance in the cheap hygrometer too, mine were off 3% between all 12… but… they are still in the “zone” for me…

@Breelie who’s the breeder on the Afghan Choco?

Sounds like you got this gal! I usually do a bit under-dry myself, then put the buds out of the jars onto a burping table once or twice a day, it works for me.
On another note lol you could always move one state away to …oh, say Oklahoma! lol

This actually is in the cards for me. I’ve been making little trips seeing where I genuinely like more than here, then hoping for a housing market correction soon :woman_facepalming:

I don’t know if you saw my post further up but where did you get the Afghan Choco seeds?

Oklahoma was a nice balmy 105° yesterday. Nice and toasty.

I responded to it, not sure where that went. I had them hand gifted from a grower I ran into at VA hospital here. Gave me a back of several different mixes, all photos.

I mean… Louisiana is the same or worse lol. Heat index around 115 and tropical rain forest stickiness when you walk outside lol

You might want to consider giving your buds a closer trim. You have a lot of leafage on there that should probably go in the pile for concentrates. Those small stems and leafs that aren’t covered in trichomes will almost always be harsh, no matter how well the bud is cured.

This is yours:

Compared to this:

Or bigger ones like this:

Those buds in that list pic are freshly trimmed, but you can see there’s no stems or extra leaf material that isn’t covered in trichomes.

I’ll admit that I spend too much time on trimming (which is why I started a thread asking how others do it), but the final product is never harsh - even when simply dried and not cured.

I trimmed much better in the beginning. Toward the end of the plant I half assed it and planned to dry trim again later. I might just cook the ones I got lazy on though!
