What’s your reasoning behind wanting to freeze it immediately vs drying it first? Sorry for 21 questions just tryna learn lol

lol, I can sum it up with this phrase: fresh is best!
I have done it with 24 hours freeze dried materials and it was nice. I think it cost in the melt department though, because I made it into rosin. Everything is geared towards melt and terpene preservation.

It’s definitely subtle changes to the process like @Broseidon said. Old school me would have chunked up that hash and dried it on the shelf…and then proceed to lose the hash making contest!

hah hah you should have seen me when I did the pull. I scooped out all the floating shit with a spoon that had holes in it. Then I inverted the bubble bags over the end of the buckets. While I held them on there, I tipped over the bucket and poured all the water out through the bags. 10 outta ten would recommend it.

OK harvest is coming up soon! First question is… will it kill…err make hash!

Harvest is coming very soon! The trichomes are barely hanging on, and a rare handful are amber. You can see a few crap trichomes on this area of the bract I call “problem”.
Here’s the real forest of trichomes! Varies in size from 91ish microns to 163 or so. No problem in the hash department, and only a few crappy trichomes.
Almost hard to see the little buggers. Still looks like it’s a good yield up to 3%! We shall see…very soon!

OK, today is the day where I run the hash face! It was very disappointing in the stink dept. My example is this: the big bud plants at day 30 put out more stink than the hash face at the end. There are a number of large trichomes that will be caught in the 90 bag and the sessile trichomes will be excluded. I’ve been giving away the 73 again to anyone who drops by. We’ll see how long it takes for people to get tired of it

Note to future self I used 824 grams, but that includes tare. So the yield of the plant was decent! Next stop is some red hot chili peppers and a good stir. Snake(s) took over the compost pile, so I’m gonna have to mulch that plant and toss it… somewhere else. I’m not scared of a snake, but I’d prefer to leave it in peace. It’s so huge and just sleeps there in the covered bin on top of the root balls. I’m hoping it’s eating slugs and mice.

Ohhh yah! A Fucking goo ball. I think this is the first batch I’ve had to freeze out of the bags in a while. Kind of like a bunch of mushed up bananas!

Damn! This hash has contaminated the universe! My hands are all shiny from touching the hash bags. The bags are frozen right now to get the crumbs off! There is no way that shit is going to rinse off the bags, it’s like… goo ball.

Usually you can just rinse out the crud in cold water, but the sticky has infested everything. I would normally just baking soda it and get the stink out, but this is industrial scale contamination, lol!
