Bubble hash: Completing the Arc

What equipment/software do you use for this bract analysis?

I have an old school biological research microscope with a modern usb 3 amscope camera in the eye hole. Amscope software, too.

My lab is some kind of techno-play-land.

I’m fascinated by this approach of predicting yield through bract microscopy, definitely gonna give it a go myself.

What week of flower do you usually scope the bracts?

I actually start when they grow their first bract at the 4-7th node. They are still in veg and usually pretty small, at that point. You can definitely pick the losers out of the batch! What I did was create a series of images of all the plants, so I can compare the image to 1,2 and 3% yield images. I call it ā€œbaselineā€ method, where I compare the new plant to the baseline.

That’s sick! I’m gonna invest in some better scoping equipment and give that a go.

mmmmmm ok! I am going to make that CBG rosin and then make another batch of bubble hash. OR… put the CBG hash in a bag then just make the rosin later. Definitely making a hash batch today, though! Just lemme gather the toolz.

Dammit that CBG batch was the worst ever. Good news, I got a good batch coming up! I’m going to make a purple ice water batch and press it into fresh press rosin. Wheeee! Let the skunk ass flavor roll!

Ahhh surfactants are your friend. If it doesn’t look like this in the first 5 min it’s trash.

Thanks, I’ll checkout some reviews and compare them to Mila’s bags. Will see if they are available in the EU because shipping may be more than the price of 1 bag.

The batch is done, but I’ve still got to run it through the press. I’ll put it to chill for now and do it in a little bit. Gotta get some firewood! I’ll take some photos then, before I bag it up for the press.

You Press it without drying?

Yah sometimes I do that, you just have to be careful the moisture doesn’t rip the parchment paper with too much pressure. I usually change it out half-way through the press. There are going to be tiny moisture bubbles in the rosin for a few days, but I leave it out on a piece of parchment paper to dry.

It’s pretty easy if you find one that you want. Create an account, checkout using a credit card or PayPal. Just make sure you aren’t buying one from China by checking the item location, or it will take 3 weeks to ship
