So, this plant was neglected for a while, after transplant it started showing some symptoms that I couldn’t really deal with, the leaves were dry, even crumbly, but it came to flower. The beginning of flower was not so good either, because the stronger panel wasn’t working, but it’s ok now.
The thing is, the buds are kinda forming but I see no pistil. I would like to have some suggestions of what could have caused this so next time I know what I shouldn’t do. In the pictures you can see the leaves too so I’d love to have some thoughts on those if there’s any.
The other plants in her batch are doing pretty fine. Had some problems with dry leaves but not nearly close to what happened to this one.
I’ve read about there being a Puck hashplant pheno that also does something like this. I believe it’s a rare genetic “thing” more than a mistake on your part.
I’ve grown a hairless pheno that came out of a Solfire pack.
It’s just a random mutation I guess.
Honestly plant looks unhealthy from pH lockout or nutrient imbalances so would consider flushing and I guarantee she will start to look better
You have an advanced russet mite infection for what I can see the pictures probably the pistils is the first thing that they feed hence the lack of them.
Cut a leaf and if you have use a microscope or magnifying glass to confirm, after harvest clean everything, try to use seeds instead of cuts or bringing other plants inside the grow room to avoid this to happen
It would be interesting if it was just a genetic thing, because her sisters are really different. @Hashpants I believe this one is ICCxCube, is it a possibility?
I flushed it a little, adjusted ph and took light on nutrients, it improved a little.
@Calcium_Enriched1996 it would be nice to be this case.
@Pakore I’ve already looked for them but I couldn’t find anything, the symptoms were harder a few days ago.
Not genetic that ive seen. Good to see those getting popped though.
I had something similar a couple years back… here’s what I posted back then…
And here’s an oddity! About a month ago I noticed this plant starting to get really triched-out sugar leaves but there was no sign of any pre-flowers. Worried that it might be going hermie or even a full male, so I moved it off to a distant corner of the nursery. Checked it daily for a while and it kept up the trich production but I couldn’t see any signs of sex. About 2 weeks ago things got crazy for me and I totally forgot it was even there, until last night. Use the zoom function and see if you can find a single pistil anywhere on this plant? Budderton says he’s seen pistilless female plants before, but rarely! I’m halfway tempted to just cover it in pollen from the Black Skunk (Mister Bee
) that I’ve been collecting the last few days and say a prayer!
Really dense, sticky, hard golf ball nugs! And thus far, unbelievably, no mold!
Good luck!
Are the leaves mutated to look like crinkles from mites
Yours turned out pretty nice, I would be happy with something like this.
No, something has happened. No visible mites so far.
If its not some sort of an infestation or a sort of pathogen or infection id say it was an example of parthenocarpy. The real gootcher is how it came to be this way if thats what this is?I also know that some plants seeds can abort right before they develop a pistil so they cant impregnate in a process known as Stenospermocarpy.Dont Know if cannabis can do it but who knows?
looks like russet mites to me
If it were such an infestation, wouldn’t my other plants be in this shape too? As I said, they have some symptons, but not as close as this one.
You will need to use strong magnification to know for sure. Stronger than a loop.
mmmmmmmmmmm yeah I was wrong, I thought they could be spoted with the naked eye. I do have something to use, thank you ![]()
It’s possible just means it’s truly sterile assuming there’s no pests at play there rare but your right they still do exist
It doesn’t quite look like russet mites. I dealt with that years ago. I got a dirty clone from a friend. Russet mites are one of the most difficult pests to eradicate. You will need a strong magnifying loop to see those little suckers. I ended up shutting down my 20x20 grow shed after a year of battling russet mites. I took a break for a few years, and grew only outdoors.
I think your plant might have a virus or phosphorus toxicity.
I would be concerned about disease and not keep it.
