Bunny's Mad Misshapes. (CBD with a sprinkling of other adventures)

Man! What a damn amazing thread you have @bunny !! Kudosss!!! Awesome explosion of plants, experiments, lots of stuff!! Beautiful! brother! I’m floored!    :hugs: :beers: :seedling:

Yeah, people have said I had little sense going way back.

And now you have huge little sense!!? :flushed: :astonished:

Simply the number of plants is mind boggling!

I made little numbers to hang on the cuttings, laminated it with packaging tape. The hardest part was tying them to the cutting. Used dental floss as the string. The number of plants is lower now, mid 20’s I think, plus a few others, then six new surprise ones. The big bunch here got their photo taken to give some reference for later on but I did not remember I set the lens to manual and all the pictures were blurry. What did I say about little sense?

We’re all a bit “crazy,” brother! No harm done! Just blurry pics! lol! :eyes: :flushed: :beers: :hugs: :+1:  :fire:

Yeah no plants harmed.

Replaced the picture, what do you think? Three days in 12:12.

I’d say they were raring to go! They jumped out running for sure.

I am curious at what some early pollen will do for it?

How do you plan to apply? If you could do it on individual buds I’d say do a part of a branch and label it. I don’t think it would hurt. But I don’t know much. Yet. lol

That is my plan. I have an artist brush to do it.

Mostly girls so far but still early.

One for sure boy. Was debating to keep this one because of this leaf. Might have been a good thing.

A male in the smaller plants.

The two on the left are Carl’s Shoes x Meat Breath.

The Dinamed might not have liked the rise in temperature will all the lights on. Changed the airflow and it is cooler now. Had some of the last run this morning. Nothing for frost, reminds me of 70’s weed. But it did reduce my symptoms to a certain extent. Trimmed some of the Cherry Wine this morning, going to have to keep the lighter going to keep it lit.

Just saw this and stuck my nose in. Looks like I’ll have to keep stopping by- lots of good stuff going on!

It comes from the Shiny Object Syndrome. Or Fools Jump In Where…

I am going to do a seed run in the near future also, a separate thread though. I may have to set up another grow space for that and make up some lights. I think my biggest issue though will be humidity. I may have to run a dehumidifier rather than dumping the air outdoors. Not a big deal with it hovering around freezing but it is going to be dropping tomorrow. So bring in cold air and heat it as compared to running the dehumidifier? Also I have enough heat in the basement just with the lights. Normally I would not be running the extra set of lights in my overflow, but I decided to grow the plants and I will work out the details as they come.

Now you’re coming into my wheelhouse; environmental control systems.

Cold air from outside will be VERY dry once it’s warmed to grow room temps so you won’t need a lot to keep RH down. A basic principle of meteorology holds that in order to reduce relative humidity, one must add heat. A lot of growers get confused about how their dehumidifiers actually work; it’s not the dribble of cold water it makes that does the job, it’s the heat coming out the back!

You could even build a simple heat exchanger that passes the air leaving your house across the intake for air coming in and that would help reduce energy needs. Beware of condensation in the outgoing air circuit.

I was thinking of making a heat exchanger eventually, have to blow another hole in the concrete though. On the environmental side, I worked installing/servicing environmental systems in a medical campus of about 3 million sq ft. We had a couple of other guys doing the dx side of things, I did the steam, hot and chilled water, air movement and distributed control systems. My background is process control and I took the job as a quick place to work and stayed there too long. I am doing something unusual, I am exhausting the air into gravel I have surrounding the basement, not sure how much I can without it freezing up. This winter is the first I have tried it.

Wow, sounds like I should be asking you questions lol

Sometimes I find it amazing all the stuff I knew (not necessarily at the same time). You use it or lose it.My supervisor for some reason had something against me (I did have the same level of schooling as he had, wondered if that might partly be it) and he had me go through the building controls from top to bottom, fixing the parts, calibrating them. But if you have 100 rooms a floor and ten floors it becomes monotonous. And after that, another building for me. Funny I was the only guy he had doing it.

But we also rotated being on call to take service call when something was going on wrong and people complaining. Or the software flags a fault in the systems. Some things were routine again, some had you sweating, you did not have enough information to figure things out and things were going bad to worse real fast with real consequences. I was pretty good at pulling troubleshooting and pulling a rabbit out of a hat. But my boss’s beef (thinking now, he might thought would spoiled his succession plan, it is always politics) had me doing the least with the present technology (such as Lon, BACnet,…) so I was mostly stuck in 1980-90’s. But other than smarter communications the processes are the same and you have field equipment doing the same job. Dampers and valves still have to open, sensors still need to read right, and when they don’t you need to figure out what is malfunctioning.

I get the process of a growing environment but am unfamiliar with grow equipment most use. In a few years I may automate a system, depends if I can get our compensation system here to pay for my CBD or not (still fighting over my getting hurt on the job). Part of the reason I have things cobbled together, I am not going to invest a chunk of change and then find I am only growing a couple of plants for fun. Probably the best reason to do it would be so I can go away for a couple of weeks at a time. That would be nice.

I thought just for kicks I would pollinate a branch on the early female plants and I found something on one branch that has me concerned. Will have to give it a little more time to see for sure if this is a male part.

I’m not a grow guru but it looks like she’s confused to me. JMHO.

That would only be on there long enough for me to take the picture, then snip. That’s just me though.
