Burping and Belching

Hi all:

I used to burp religiously.

Now that I’ve got unlimited humidity sensors I figure as long as the RH stays around 60 there’s no need to burp. If it’s too low I go the boveda route and let it sit awhile.

I still open the jars to smell them but I haven’t burped in a long time. If I need to burp it’s because I haven’t dried enough.

Anyone else feel this way?

All the best

I never really burped, I would take the lid off for 24hrs. then seal it for 3-4 days then take the lid off again for 24hrs. then seal it again for 3-4 days…I do it for about 2 wks. then I store it…I dont use boveda either.

I only ventilate to smell jars or if I put in the buds slightly too wet. Only really happens in Summer when the humidity is higher. I’ve been transferring branches to a paper bag for a couple days between hanging and jars and it’s a nice segue between the two.

The reason I mention it is because this 1 year old weed is still in perfect shape. Granted I haven’t opened the jar in 9 months. I’ve been saving it for Mrs Foreigner. She doesn’t seem to care though she’s got so much weed she can’t even tell the difference.

I use the paper bag trick in the summer months as well.

Same here, seems to work fine, haven’t heard a good argument of why I should burp after humidity is stable, Id like one tho.
Got a big pail of silica for initial dry, sealed container, drop in humidity sensor.
Handy with my smallish batches, smell free and efficient on space.
