Calyxes are browning/dying off last week of flower??

Hi everyone, I noticed a very strange issue today on one of my ladies. This was to be the final week of flower, but rather than fattening up the calyxes seem to be dying back from the tips.
The tops have already been harvested, but I’m letting the bottoms ripen up more before chopping, so did a 24hr dark period and chopped the top half 8 days ago. Then placed the bottom half back into flower schedule to finish off with another week or two.

Not all the remaining buds are dying off like this, however. The top buds still look good, but I’ll admit they’re not fattening up as id like either.
I saw on reddit one post mention a boron deficiency as a potential culprit, and that a small dose of that in the water could restart the calyx fattening process, but that is the only bit of info I could find anywhere online regarding this issue, and it was a very short thread with no conclusion.

This one has me a bit stumped.

thank you for anyone who may offer some advice.

What’s the RH in the grow area as low humidity will cause this. Its not necessarily a bad thing as at the end of flower you want the humidity low to increase the trichome production.

You also might want to check for any single male flower herms, around the bottom buds, they can hide between the bud and the stem and cause this to happen if they drop pollen.

Damn that was fast, good looking fellas.

Sorry I’ve been at dinner with family.
So the humidity is actually a bit high as I was using the same room for flower and veg and seedling starting so was keeping things around 55% with plenty of air movement…

That being said the strain is from some bagseed and 1 of the 5 phenos from that batch I know hermed a bit and has given me 2 seeds so far after pressing about and oz… So low seed count but it was there to a degree. Haven’t gone through as much of the other phenos’ flower yet.
