Canadian Clones Preservation Co-Op

I thought it best to start a separate thread to move forward with the idea of a Canadian clone co-op to preserve and share classic cuts so they don’t get lost.

Now the question is how do people want to organise it? Can it be as simple as people posting which clones they collected and from where (at least as much as they are willing/can share) or does it need more structure?

What do people want, specifically those with cuts from Scallywag who have said they are interested like @Pigeonman, @Purple_Drank604, @HobbyCraft,
@CannaHappiness, @SHSC-1, @Vikinggrow, @Wizdom or @sprinklememaynee but in general what’s everyone’s thoughts? What problems could come up and how can they be avoided?

Honestly I go with the flow we all have cuts of whatever and we all know there around im really more intrested on finding the lost gems :gem: .Theres so many classics that are not talked about and are missed . Names have changed but the ones im on the look out for is champagne, uw purple, k2 , m39, Bc skunk. And these are far from the best but its nostalgic to me.

Excited to see where this goes. Will be watching and will chip in once I’ve got my tissue culture lab set up. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m more concerned that more cuts don’t become “lost gems”. Since Scallywag just shared a bunch of old classic Canadians cuts that aren’t widely held and supports the idea of creating a group to preserve them that’s why I started this conversation.

Anyone holding the east coast cut of Jean guy?

Which is another question, which clones are worth preserving? I tend towards sharing all cuts and letting the people decide which they like and are worth saving.

Do you mean the Quebc/Montreal cut which is were it originated?

Oh actually, does anyone still have Manitoba Poison by Great White North?
That or Donkey Dick (lmao) from Mighty Mite seeds?

You can buy Manitoba poison from Great White North seeds through Hemp depot, pretty sure they sell donkey dick as well but not a pure mighty mite. They have been selling the same gear for 2-3 decades now and are readily available.

Sadly all out of DD and pure Manitoba Poison. :slightly_frowning_face:
Good thought though as hemp depot usually has a lot of stuff like this.

That’s unfortunate but I’d imagine they will be restocked if not soon then eventually as they had pure Manitoba Poison in stock this spring when I was looking and have carried them since I first bought from Hemp Depot 20 odd years ago.

Donkey dick was an amazing outdoor strain

Oh that’s good to know that the breeders restock. :slightly_smiling_face:
With some of the original companies I have been worried some of the stuff is going to be lost forever. Might shoot an email out to hemp depot and see if they are planning a restock on the MP soon.

I’ve heard!

Was looking through an old IC Mag thread talking about it and it sounds awesome. A sweet, skunky cabbage smell with an uplifting high sounds great.

Would love to try growing it someday.
