Why not what the hell else will the tax
And they still say no to home grow
That’s just over 30 cents per eighth (it says cultivators are charged the fee but presumably they pass that cost on to consumers via increased prices). According to the article they could increase the fee to $30 per ounce ($3.75 per eighth) but didn’t, though the ACLU wanted them to do so.
Home grow would be the best social equity program available. And costs them nothing , to boot. They will never give out 1 dollar, unless they are certain to triple it for thier cronies. Social inequities are thier bargaining chips.
I was just telling my daughter the increase on tax would really hurt the retired people
On fixed incomes
If I didn’t grow I would be able to afford legal weed it’s way too costly here in nj
Are you sure you cold afford legal weed??? ![]()
No shit, and that sucks big donkey dicks! Fucking politicians.
One tough thing to contemplate.
What is the tax on cannabis for a consumer buying in NJ? Googling it makes it look relatively cheap compared to other states, but maybe they’re leaving out excise taxes or something that makes it much higher.
No homegrowing sucks. No ifs and or buts about that.
I found this to be an interesting perspective.
Every dispensary in ny that I’ve spoken to says the main group of consumers is 55+. Basically all the law abiding citizens who don’t have a connection already.
I wonder what other industry gets yearly fee increases ![]()

I’m also curious on how many NJ and PA residents will start buying in NY
I agree, it is an interesting perspective.
To quote the author, “What I’d like to see, for the sake of our young people, is education and easily accessible information on the negative effects.” I say let’s begin with “god,” not something that actually exists, like marijuana. I, obviously, believe religion has far more deleterious effects on people and society/culture than weed.
@mota @Calyxander does it say who paid for the study?
I’m surprised the author just doesn’t trot out the study done in the 70s, think it was Gabriel Naus
I thought it was funny that she was focused on healthy coping mechanisms, and then makes a passing reference to people’s attachment to the their electronic devices as a positive because they can disseminate information through them (she was talking specifically about young people, but addiction to our phones applies to all age groups).
Also, there’s been some coverage of the apparently really deleterious effects of alcohol consumption, but not as much as there could be.
Until people are taught, in school from a young age, critical thinking skills that allow them to see the truth behind the spin, access to information is irrelevant.
Yes, I found that a bit unsettling myself.
If mental health was a true concern addiction would go down
