Well, I found this article to be infuriating.
Shameless and farcical!

This seems a little heavy-handed to me.

Smells like over regulation.

May very well assist in maintaining a thriving black market.

it would make sense if they eliminated a corresponding number of LEO jobs. The tax money should go toward environmental and health stuff, instead of SWAT teams and helicopters, prison guards, etc.

Sure would,
Governments don’t do things that make sense tho.
They just use every excuse to increases the police-state.

Ruling elite never give up control, they only seek ways to instill more control by encreasing their power and reach.

apparently half the tax revenue in Colorado went to more police, laser-guided toys up the wazoo, robots, etc.

Yup, you are all correct.
Too correct.
Government is like cancer on the body politic. Rapid, uncontrolled growth of Government.
Government will never pare itself back willingly.
It needs surgery in order to save the ailing body politic.

This is why I am largely ambivalent regarding legalization of ganja. State Governments need to be much more laissez-faire with the newly legit cannabis markets.
Oh well!

you’d expect legalization would free up resources etc but they need to keep everyone busy (officers, judges, lawyers, etc) to justify their budgets so they find some other bullshit. it’s the same here in canada, there’ll be more laws/charges than before legalization and some politicians are asking who will pay for the increase in police resources etc once it’s legal …

This Sessions character is really a creepy guy.

Wait a minute… I thought his party was for smaller government and states rights?

Where’s that dang pot stirring emoji?

GOP is for small federal government, so long as it’s an issue where far-right states are doing something terrifying. Blue states who want to spend money on schools instead of the drug war are commies and the feds need to steer them right.

I’d rather not have the DEA kick down my door for my legal collection of smokable house plants, but if it happens, I promise to turn the trial into a hilarious spectacle for all to enjoy.

Like the article says, 66% of people polled favor legalization – Sessions is in the minority, and a crackdown on legal weed would not go well for anyone.

These two stories are related, in that, if cannabis prices keep declining, there will be a future point at which the wanton destruction and poisoning of these forests will cease. It will no longer be cost effective.

Here’s to hoping it happens sooner rather than later.

This may be wishful thinking on my part.
